We are definitely in a non-shooting civil war.

I don't know whether we are on the cusp of a shooting civil war. Probably not.

If some Civil War Re-enactors show up to peacefully demonstrate in support of a Lee or Stonewall statue, that's OK. And it is OK for another group to peacefully disagree with the Civil War Re-enactors. Both sides have a point.

Police need to keep the opposing groups physically separated and out of eyesight of each other. That's the only way to prevent violence, because of the risk of violent extremists from the fringes of both sides to show up to cause trouble.

I would like all violent actors to face justice.

Not really. I go about my business everyday and none of this is an issue. You've got shades on differing sides as you've always had and the most vocal get played on 24/7 news for ratings. It magnifies a problem that really isn't that significant.

And that will never happen
Oh, it could happen.

Politicians attempt to peal away groups with identity techniques. If a subset of those groups get tired of it, identity politics would flop and could end.

If for example hispanic citizens vote economy rather than identity, or if women vote for workplace opportunity rather than whether Trump groped someone 10yrs ago,
it could happen.

I do. You've got some entertaining posts, but they really aren't anything groundbreaking or a road map away from serfdom.

Correct. That's what makes it so entertaining when the dumbed-down lose their shite over something I post and call it some deep dark conspiracy theory, when in fact it's pretty much common knowledge to the rest of us.

It's both sad and ironic that you folks are so dependent on someone else. Isn't this the very thing you rail against "the left" for?

BTW, I have laid out a very simple plan, if revolution is really what America seeks. But it doesn't. Americans are too content with their bread and circuses to be bothered.

And so for many years I've maintained RogertheShrubber's sig quote and remain entertained by this board's constant struggle against itself.

Honestly it all dates back to The War of Northern Aggression. The issues have changed but the opposing factions have not. The smart move is to complete a formal geopolitical divide between the red states and the blue states. The problem of course for the blue states is their Northeast coast and left coast are hugely divided by a sea of red states. As such it probably makes more sense for California and the rest of the West coast to form their own nation, the NE to form their own leaving the heartland and the South as the conservative faction carrying on with American traditions as defined in the Constitution by our founding fathers.

liberals live in small area of the US while Republicans take up most of the US . There is no natural food in the city for them to eat so they will starve to death and be killing each other.

I seriously can't even imagine what that would look like. Certainly would not be a traditional war w two armies and all that. I don't know if you noticed but the us military is like six times larger than any other on earth.

It could get very ugly. And it would theoretically be very unconventional. The years of violence in Northern Ireland comes to mind and I do hope nothing even remotely similar to that situation ever happens here.

Control of military is everything and they follow the constitution. We would bring Louisiana, Minnesota, California, New York or anyone by force if they tried to break away. I would help place traitors in jail or do whatever was necessary to put down rebellion.

This one is always good for the lulz.

It contains the premise that there is an available choice. That premise is false.
For the vast majority, there isn't an available destination.
Every country has immigration laws. No one can simply move where they want.

Failure on your part.

I'm going to go with something I read someone else post one here. In short - Republican Americans are too comfortable to fight trashy leftist Americans. Besides, Republicans have taken their fight to the voting booth and that's where it matters most right now.
