I called KEEL radio years ago for the talk show with the left wing editor of the Times, Frank May. It was Xmas season and he kept saying 'For every 1st time caller the Shreveport Times will donate $5 to our Christmas Joy Fund' (for the poor).
'Here is Zach. Hi, Zach."
'Hi, Frank. I'll make you a deal. I'll donate 50 bucks to the Joy Fund if the Shreveport Times will donate 100 bucks.'
Frank: "Uh, umm. I don't think we can do that, Zach."
Me: "Too bad. Good bye."

it's an hour wait to call Rush and get on? what are the chances he will put someone on air? is it the screening that takes an hour?

The screening is fast. If Bo Snerdly thinks you're boring you're gone. But if he puts you on hold and sends Rush a blurb on waiting calls then it's an hour on average.
