I consider myself in that contingent and he 100% has my support.

I respectfully disagree with your opinion on a rift though. And that’s fine.

Fair enough. Though I suspect that the rift you see is between message board posters and random internet blue check “celebrities” rather than any actual disagreement between DeSantis and Trump.

Not at all. It’s the continued running Desantis down.

There’s a rift on the part of one of the two for sure.

You invented that.

Desantis obviously wasn't going to be VP. There's 10 reasons for that.

And, it's clear he doesn't like Trump. I understand that given what Trump just did to him.

Nevertheless, relative to his future prospects, he has a problem. His campaign called America First / MAGA voters (which represent a very large portion of Republicans) a cult. They've been insulted over and over. Even your comment above accuses me of fealty. You do it so easily because it's the norm.

If Desantis were smart, he'd get out and help Trump on the national level. #1, that would define him as a national player vs. a Florida guy. He could focus on the states where Trump's path is a little tougher...and he coudl do it in the context of America First / MAGA. He could define himself as such. That would be a smart, smart political move.

Instead, as one of the most prominent Desantis posters on here said, "Desantis wouldn't piss on Trump if he was on fire." And, that emotion is keeping him from making a decision that would be good for the party. His pride is in the way.

I'm not making that case that America First Republicans should not support Desantis. I'm pointing out that will likely be the case. The dynamic will resemble the last 18 months that he and his team couldn't figure out to the point where they adopted that all of the voters must be a cult.

Be prepared.

That's untrue and your emotion probably contributed to your reading comprehension problem.

I wasn't making a case that Desantis should not be supported moving forward. I was making a prediction that based on his decision to effectively sit this one out, he won't be.

As I said, he will live and die by that decision. I know what I think will happen.

it's only weird now because you are not happy with the result. it wasn't weird back in June and July when the Bots would spam would spam the board about how Trump was finished and only Desantis could win the election.

jon ham was on PT 24 hours a day back then posting poll after poll. rmnlder same thing. at least both of them have the self awareness to see how wrong they were.

even Fun Bunch has gone MIA and is on posting on X now.

these threads are big shiny hooks to Bucky and roadGator. they can't resist. apparently neither can you. it's fun to watch their blood pressure rise. it isn't a good night until Bucky goes full capslock.
