When Trump loses to oatmeal brain again, MAGA will be begging DeSantis to stand up to Biden's radical agenda and will cheer him on and celebrate him when he resists Biden, just like they did from 2021-2022. It's going to be hilarious watching these people twist themselves into pretzels.
He'll be able to run an epic "I told you so" campaign in 2028 and his pitch will be simple: "Hey GOP primary voters, are you tired of losing General Elections yet?"

Trump says a lot of things to get elected. He obviously doesn't govern as a rock ribbed conservative. Unfortunately no one has any frame of reference for what actual conservative governance looks like because Reagan, imperfect as he was, is the last example we have of this.

If you're going to give Trump another chance after he lost a General Election then DeSantis deserves another shot for dropping out of a primary. It's hypocritical to say otherwise.

I don't think so. Either Trump wins, he loses and they spend two years making excuses and blaming everyone else, or they quietly fade back into the apolitical forest and wait to see if some other entertainer can capture their attention one day.
