Remember the Alamo? A symbol of racism. The city of Austin? City of oppression!

How long before there are calls for tearing down The Alamo? Mexico had outlawed slavery, and the battle for independence from Mexico was, in large part, due to the protection of slave owners' rights.

Stephen F. Austin was a slave owner, as were Jim Bowie, Col. Bill Travis and others who fought as slave owners at The Alamo.

How long before progs call for Austin to be renamed?

Saturday tops. It's not a question of if anymore. The inmates run the asylum now on the left.

Oh, and this board won't be unmolested for long. Give it a month and we will be the next targets. Free speech has no room in the modern liberal party.

This is why we cant have nice things. If you dont tell the uneducated about these things, they dont complain. Less history, less complaining.

Is like showing the average person a stars and bars flag. They wont get offended until you tell them what it is.

Did any of them advocate secession or treason against the United States?

Dumbass. They all died before Texas was part of the US.

That line of thinking might be disputed by the Native Americans...

Sam Houston didn't.

Since they played no part in US history - per you- why bring them into the conversation?

No, but those oppressive slave owners did from Mexico. Had they not stole Texas from Mexico then Mexico might have been a successful and profitable country. It was all the Alamo's fault.

Burn it down!

I imagine there'll be demands soon to rename Crockett, Travis and Fannin streets in Shreveport.

You're a much bigger dumbass that I previously thought. A. I didn't mention Sam Houston (a slave owner, btw), but since you mention he was no part of American history, that really catapaults your stupidity to another level, considering he was a Governor of Tennessee, first president of the Republic of Texas and when it was annexed, the first U.S. senator from Texas.

What a maroon!

Disagreeing with you doesnt take that much effort.

Also generally speaking the lungs power the brain. You know, respiration and all that. I am sure you are just regurgitating what you learned at home, so I am not too troubled by what you know (or dont know...)

Let me help you out this time. Theres even a whole wiki page about it...

I've long figured there were lots of snickers, groans and arguments from illegal Mexicans in Texas History classes (a required course), en Espanol of course.

But what's going to happen when the Mexicans start seeking retribution, like the blacks? Talk about a one-two punch.

Mexicans assimilate

they don't spend their lives with chips on their shoulders over something that didn't happen to them, and ended 150 years ago anyway

True. Sam Houston turns into a murderous scoundrel and is stricken from the books and Santa Anna becomes the new hero of TX history class. Viva La Mexico!

Did you know that the Boston Tea Party played no role in US history because we weren't even a country yet?
