Vice-President Mike Pence

2 Questions:

1) Do you agree that he is seldom mentioned when people talk about their favorites for 2024?

2) If you do agree, why do you think that is so? Vice-Presidents are often in the mix to succeed the President for whom they have served.

I know some people think that Pence has had ties to the Swamp, but has anything actually been proven on that front? President Trump seems to have a genuine respect and admiration for Mike Pence.

I feel Pence is seldom mentioned at all.

I should probably google what he's been doing the past 3 years.

He’s a fricking chuck just like Jeff Sessions. Guy is a total kissy and they would eat him alive.

Nope.

He shouldn’t even try.

I think he knows his place in the administration.

Pence won't motive the base and won't be the nominee.

Trump is going to be a hard act to follow. Mike Pence does not have the personality to handle the presidency. However he is one of the best VP's and a straight up bad arse soldier. I think for 2024 we are looking at Ted Cruz, Nicky Haly team. After their 8 years, I would be all in for Donald Trump Jr for 8 years.

Pence is definitely throwing his hat in the ring but I don’t think he can win a general. He is way to religious and comes off very scripted.

He is perfect in the role he’s in now. A complete opposite of trump which makes the duo work out.

The GOP will have a very crowded field again:

Rubio
Cruz
Rand
Graham
Pence
Haley
Kasich* (probably not)

I would love to see Abbott or DeSantis run as I think both would crush it and would beat any Dem straight up.

I don’t think he has the temperament for it and I don’t think he would want to put himself and his family thru the hell the Dims would make their lives.

That's cute, but we're more talking about frozen orange juice concentrate straight outta the can, no dilution. Powerful stuff.

At a minimum, DeSantis has to be on everybody's short list for Vice-President in 2024. He's popular, he's charismatic, and the state he governs is "slightly consequential."

I don't think he has the desire. i think he prefers a supportive role.

Ivanka/Don Jr or Don Jr/Ivanka

That would almost guarantee a win for the GOP because it would be seen as a defacto 3rd Trump term among most Trump supporters. Why the frick not?

I mentioned this in another thread, but after Trump, Republican voters will never again vote for another safe, generic politician that doesn't fight back and refuses to say what needs to be said.

This includes politicians like Romney, Rubio, Jeb, Kasich, etc. Pence falls into this group.

Cruz has adopted a Trumpian type attitude on Twitter, but it remains to be seen whether he can maintain this in real time during a debate or interview.

I still maintain that if Don Jr runs in 2024 the nomination his likely his. He's just as vicious as Trump and will not back down from anyone. In today's sociopolitical climate that's exactly what GOP voters want to continue to see.
