Reflections about modern feminism

Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about modern feminism and what it means for women and society. I’m not sure if “modern” is the best adjective to describe this movement, or if it’s an American feminism thing.
I can totally get behind women’s suffrage and women having equal opportunities. None of that assumes that women are equal to men, because we’re very different. Not to say one sex is necessarily “better” than the other, but we have different abilities due to chemical makeup, DNA, hormones, etc.
It seems to me that modern/American feminism has really screwed women over. We are supposed to be seen as equal to men, even though we are clearly not. One example is that women are tasked with procreation. Because women are supposed to be equal to men, we are supposed to be able to work full time literally up until we go into labor. Pregnancy is hard on the body and I think it’s messed up that women are supposed to be seen as actually superior to men who are never required to or asked to work until they birth another tiny human from their bodies. That’s actually patriarchal, imo.
Abortion is also patriarchal, imo. Asking a woman/mother to kill/terminate the life of her own offspring is insane. And society has convinced itself that it’s somehow empowering. Pregnancy and childbirth are burdensome, but they are also uniquely female experiences. Taking that away from women is not empowering. IMO, encouraging abortion views women as fetal incubators moreso than respecting a woman’s ability to create life.
Historically, the pendulum usually swings back from the brink of (or the nidst of) insanity. I’m wondering if any of you think that there will be a shift back to more traditional views of women/feminism.

Feminism is dying. Something like 7% of women identify as a feminist now.
I know one women who identifies as one but hates people like Lena Dunham and Rosie O'Donnell representing "feminism". Prefers more of a Paglia view.
The feministas did it to themselves. Instead of empowering women they've taken to bashing the need for men.
I mean... Why not focus on getting more women involved in STEM instead of crying they don't make the same amount of money in the marketplace when the highest paying jobs are... STEM jobs.
Further, most women want a man in their life. It's basic biology and human nature. Can't really fight those forces effectively without providing an alternative.
And lesbianism isn't the answer because most women I know hate most other women lol.

It's not about being pro-female or even feminism. It's entirely about narrative; when 1 narrative fails, then they change tactics.
Men and women are equal as humans only. Women are good at things & men are good at things but not necessarily the same things, which is the way God intended it to be.

I have never have understood the republican hard stance on abortion, But also being anti welfare and pro death penalty.
All Life is precious until it's actually born then screw that I don't want to pay for it and when its an adult kill it first time it messes up.

This is another side effect of feminism, y'all think men have been listening to the crowing that's been going on for a century. No real man thinks women are equal at most things. Don't worry sweetheart, no good man will make you work full time while having and raising little kids. Not sure about bike stealing hobos though

I think this is because feminist is like the term "racist." It's just overused. It has no real definition anymore. It went from wanted women to be respected to now looking at women as victims. I don't know how that happened.

Lesbianism/homosexuality is disordered, so of course it's not the answer. And we have an interest in furthering the human race, which we can't do without both sexes functioning in their natural roles as sex machines.

I hope so.
I whole heartedly agree with everything you said. I've never felt unequal to men, but I know I'm different. And that's okay, since the reality is that I am different.
Being pregnant (almost full term) and working full time and being expected to not perform any differently than if I weren't is honestly extremely daunting. I travel for my job and work in a mostly male dominated industry where even my own manager forgets that every aspect of my being is basically consumed with creating a little life inside of me. To say it doesn't effect me mentally and physically would be a lie. Maybe some women are just better at ignoring that, I don't know. But I do agree with you that modern day feminism honestly hurts women because it's almost as if we are expected to be exactly what we aren't: men.

They both have intrinsic value, but they both also are born with free will. Well, unfortunately the unborn baby isn't but theoretically he/she has it. A person can be deemed so harmful and dangerous to civil society that they cannot be allowed to live. And whether we like it or not, the death penalty also serves as vengeance for the victims and their loved ones. And for those who look at it from the religious angle, there isn't a prohibition in the Bible that the State cannot take a life through its own mechanisms.
