Hindsight being 20/20, what should have been done in Egypt, Syria, etc?

IMO, the U.S. shouldn't get involved in Arab internal affairs. They should be able to fight their civil wars and settle their political disputes without outside interference just like we've done in the past. I'm okay with encouraging them to embrace democracy with soft power, but never with hard power.

Given that the squeaky wheel always gets the oil, and those willing to resort to hard power always win the political process, TF...do you think that once the Islamist establish their Caliphate in the ME, and oil goes to $200 per barrel...and their utter and declared love for martyrdom in destroying their Ideological/Religious opposition....tell me you don't really think they'll just live over there and not come after us bunch of hedonists, heather perverts over here, that is tempting their children.

Buddy, there is no way we dodge this fight. We can run, but we can't hide. They are coming! Because we are evil.

This certainly sounds like a man that truly gets it, but we heard the same song and dance from Obama during his campaign in 2008. Everything he campaigned on has been a complete lie.

You are probably going to see this from now on. It's easy when you're on the outside looking in to come up with utopian and idealistic views on foreign policy. However, once you get elected and get brought up to speed on what's really going on, your view changes. Mark my word, if RP wins the election, he will change just like the others. He will probably also end up supporting the NSA.

I love the NSA! They can publish everything I ever written on email...if they'll publish Lois Lerner's conversations with the WH.

They need to focus on the enemies without (Islamists) and those WITHIN, who threaten our Freedom; and would put an Authoritarian 'boot on our neck'. I'm willing to give up a cursory scan of my privacy if they can keep both the above off my arse.

Kudos to the honest folk who do that work.
