Lyric from Rage Against the Machine's 1996 hit "Bulls on Parade". Back then, it was the far-Left group's attack on what they saw as the hypocrisy of the Right: you talk up family values, then try to start wars all over the globe.
Fast forward 20 years and the winner of the 2016 Election is a Republican who's been married three times, waved the rainbow flag, and criticizes the idea of interventionist regime change every chance he gets.
Has RATM finally found its candidate?

It's amazing how Morello and Obama have virtually identical backgrounds.

I like listening to their live CD and had this same thought during the election.
Who stood and watched as the feds cold centralized ?

It's amazing how that band started out as a college band playing on the fairgrounds or quad at Berkeley to playing in stadiums in front of 100,000 people in less than a year.

When the hype machine catches up with you, it can give you a massive boost.
Especially considering the way the mid to late 90s was as far as music. With Cobain dead and Pearl Jam in the middle of a fight with Ticketmaster, there was a void of popular established bands. That is how shite like Hootie and the Blowfish blew up for a brief period.

Yep.
A lot of Hollywood/Left Coast 90's rhetoric was distrust of the fedgov, raging against the machine as it were.
Just think about the name Rage Against the Machine...One might even call the machine, I don't know, a "rigged system"?

Remember when Tom Morello played that really edgy show at the RNC in Cleveland?
Yeah, no one else does either.
