What would you say is the % of Poli Board posters who are abject chicken hawks who never served their country?

I'm guessing it's north of 95%.

USN here, btw. You're welcome for the freedom, even if you went and wasted it on tRump.

I wouldn't imagine most people like to go to war unless it's the last resort.

I've never served. I wouldn't like the lifestyle. My wife's family is a military family. FIL is retired Major in the Air Force.

Happy Veteran's Day!

OP, Thanks for your service!

Calling out people who haven't served is a classy move.

And you're welcome for the tax money I paid you to protect me - unless you served out of the goodness of your heart for free.

You know, as someone who never served but came from a military family, I get a little sick of this notion of military elitism that's come out the past 15 years or so. This idea that one is looked down upon because they didn't serve. I buried a brother 15 years ago, who was killed in action in the Navy. I buried another good good friend who was a Captain in the Army.

So, thank you for your service, but you can take your self righteous attitude and self righteously frick off.

Spent enough time at Quantico, Lejeune, Cherry Point, etc., during my time as a Mid.

If not for eye-sight issues (since corrected at Bethesda), plan was to fly Super Hornets for USMC. Alas ... it was never meant to be.

Perhaps the finest professional compliment that I have ever received was: "the best Marine that never was."

Long Live The Corps. S/F.

OP strikes me as a bitch.

I happened to mention on FB that some hundreds of Syrians were relocated about 5 miles from me and that I didn't like it.

This immedaitely appeared:

"They will probably keep to themselves. Don't be paranoid."

And:

"i understand your apprehension, but the best thing you can do to prevent any conflict is be respectful and welcoming... when people don't feel welcomed, the cluster in groups of their own which reinforces their negative stereotype. If you want to make a positive difference let them get assimilated...."

Both responses from women. Of course. They don't have the right frame of reference.

God knows I tried....I tried to enlist in all five but was turned down because of my eyesight (very bad vision in one eye). This was in 1998-1999. Tried once more to get into the Air Force before I got too old and was turned down again. I'm just about the only male in my family who hasn't done some length of service, but no one gives me a hard time about it. It still irks me though. Not everyone who hasn't served isn't because they didn't want to.

I doubt more than 1/4 of the country know what actually happened on November 11th and why today is recognized.
