City councils are sure coming up with some messed up ways of treating the weakest among us.

Well - it's bull$hit and people shouldn't tolerate it.

The cops shouldn't enforce it and the people shouldn't obey it. Any law like that - which protects no one and the violation of which not only harms no one, actually helps people, should be flagrantly flaunted until the elected officials are shamed into retreat and repeal.

This illustrates one of the flaws of nanny-state progressivism/liberalism - they always think that just one more law, or one more revision of the law will fix everything. Often it is the laws (and lawmakers) that are the problem.

Another example of how big gov on any level is less effective than inds or corps, aide groups, etc helping ppl.

Ft. Lauderdale is in Broward Co, no? The mayor is a democrat. Sounds about right.

new ordinance banning public food sharing
Instead of letting charity do what it does best, govt intervention and control is the obvious solution. This should not bother you, Tuba. I'm very confused here.

Are you about to change teams?
