Na. They grow a shitton of veggies here in South Carolina. I'm sure it's the same in other southern states, and that doesn't count the grain production of the midwest.

Mexicans are FAR, FAR too hard-working, family-oriented, and grounded to want any part of the wack-job loonies in California.
Put another way, America can solve most if not all of its problems if we agree to trade a busload of SJW white Berkeley trash for each hard-working sensible Mexican laborer.... but Mexico might feel that trade imbalance weighs too much in our favor.

But Steinbeck country is one of the most productive agricultural regions in the world, earning its moniker “the Salad Bowl of the World.” Salinas, Central Valley.
The majority mixed greens consumed in America are from this area. The rest are from Mexico. Just look at your local produce...Product of Mexico.

What we should do is this. California should be allowed to secede. Encourage the liberals to move there. Hell, pay the moving expenses for them to move there
Then;
1. Blockade the California cost with the U. S. Navy while running around the clock naval flight ops along with the airforce hitting all bridges and overpasses that lead out of the former state.
2. Blockade the California / Mexico border trapping them in
3) turn off the lights - no water- no electricity - no sewer treatment.
4) except their surrender.
5) reconstruction - wouldn't be the first time
Stomp out Marxism, aka progressivism, democratic socialism forever in America.
Then;

Hot take: Brown unwittingly got Clinton elected in 1992. Brown was the D front runner for a good piece of the campaign, and we loved ripping him for being a wacko, and by the time Bill got the nod, it was too late for the GOP to dig up the serious dirt on him.
Thank goodness that the more moderate Clinton got the nod instead of Brown. That fricker would have been worse than Obama.
