I picked Russia because of some youtube rabbit holes I've been down and current politics.

Putin does not want Russia involved in a nuclear holocaust... He is using the Iran/ muslims with north korea also doing their bidding poking the US. China will be glass as they will likely show their arse too.

Regarding Australia... Even if Australia isn't targeted, their proximity to other functional countries kind of isolates them.

I think in the end Russia and western europe will escape a nuclear holocaust for WWIII...

Russia by proxy of its puppets will spark WWIII but in the end will save western civilization to end WWIII if you give weight to some of the "end time" prophesy out there.
