Most Americans say they are uneasy about President Trump's ability to handle the nuclear threat from North Korea, according to a new survey.

A CBS News poll found 61 percent of respondents question Trump's ability to handle Pyongyang, while just about one-third, 35 percent, have confidence in the president.

The poll also found that 72 percent of respondents are uneasy about a possible conflict with North Korea, compared with 26 percent who say tensions will be resolved.

A majority of respondents, 60 percent, thinks North Korea's weapons development program can be contained. But 29 percent say the threat requires military action now.

Public Opinion or not Trump is going to have to do something about North Korea. We can't allow them to just continue advancing their capabilities while threatening the US. Their intention has always been to blackmail the world. I think this is a modern day Cuba Missile Crisis.

To be fair, anyone should be uneasy at first

Why is our responsibility to take down NK? Why can't any other country take some responsibility?

Didn't they fire one of their investigative reporters after the NSA hacked her computer?

Yeah. Previous administrations were perfect with NK. Sat on their arse and let the problem manifest.

Well, I'm uncomfortable with Trump laying down public threats which amount to an Obama 'red line'...one which He will then be forced to either back up...or be mocked in the way he mocked Obama.

A mess! Let the Military handle it I guess. I'd be getting the hell out of Seoul if I lived there.

We are the only country he is directly threatening. Do you expect any other country to step up to defend the US?

Gone a week and you are still on this anti-Trump kick.

Are you ever going to grow up and just move on?

Damn...they can spit out these polls. I wish every poll had to list the gender, age, race, party affiliation and location of each person.

We're facing another war. Unlike the GWOT, war with NK will be a lot more scary. I voted for DJT, I still support DJT, and I'm worried.

The threat of nuclear war should scare anyone. Now add China into the mix and if they feel froggy and get involved in force on force we're in a world of trouble.

Now, add in the fact that technically our military is still in Sequestration, strength and equipment maintenance is down, and our troops are condition for COIN, not force on force.

Either way, we'll kick the shite out of NK if the nod is given, though.

bullshite. The majority of this country would feel much more at ease if it was Reagan, Clinton, or either Bush. Hell, even Obama. Given Trump's WELL DOCUMENTED history of erratic behavior and childish actions this should make any American VERY concerned. Couple that with the fact that we're dealing with a leader of NK that's just as crazy this makes for a very dangerous situation.
