An overwhelming majority of Americans believe that cities that arrest illegal immigrants for crimes should be required to turn them over to federal authorities.

The poll shows that President Trump has broad public support in his effort to crack down on sanctuary cities.

A survey from Harvard–Harris Poll provided exclusively to The Hill found that 80 percent of voters say local authorities should have to comply with the law by reporting to federal agents the illegal immigrants they come into contact with.

Rasmussen also recently did a poll with similar findings.

Yea because it doesn't harm America as a whole when cities don't notify the feds about potentially dangerous illegal immigrants.

There's NOOOO way a rapist illegal in austin could find his way east west or north.

Does being an illegal immigrant actually make you more likely to be a rapist? Please go find me some data. Until then, shut the frick up with your bullshite.

What, Americans should move out of US cities to satisfy illegals and their protectors? The public is on the Adminstrations side big time. There are criminal elements in those cities reigning terror on cities. Geez, the cartels have established gangs in cities across the country and we are suppose to surrender?

That isn't what I said at all. If a municipality wants to run a certain way that you don't like, then don't live there. That's what I'm saying.

Ummm, you totally missed the point of my thread.

BY DEFINITION, sanctuary cities refuse to allow the feds to know info about illegal immigrants, and by definition, that includes criminals.

And then you implied that illegal immigrants are more likely to be rapists.

I got the point. Your follow-up was complete horseshite without something to back it up.

I think the question is, who are the other 20% and can we deport them too?

Where did I do that?

Do you know what a hypothetical is?

Last year, sanc cities blocked 17 THOUSANDS illegals with criminal backgrounds from being deported. You don't think there are some really bad people in that 17k?

Bad people in a group of 17 thousand people here illegally with criminal records? That's rhetorical right?

I don't necessarily agree with the policy of sanctuary cities. I would agree a group of 17k criminals probably has some really bad people. Sanctuary cities shouldn't refuse to deport people just for political points. But talking about "the illegal rapist" that will travel up north and get you? You don't see how that makes certain implications?

I've also lived in a border state my entire life, was born in Hidalgo county, had family near the border, and am honestly puzzled at why this has been such a polarizing issue the last decade. People are just looking for something to be pissed off about and politicians are delivering because it takes the heat off of them.

One of the core responsibilities of the Federal Government is border protection. frick that noise. They aren't free to operate as they please by going against Federal law on the issue. I hope pressure is increased exponentially.

You're right. And now ICE is taking care of business rounding up criminals.
