Not actually true. In backwater states like Louisiana that denied Medicaid expansion, the folks who need subsidized birth control the most are the folks still without the insurance.

Planned Parenthood is an organization with racist, genocidal roots.
Not really. But if you want to go that route, then its even more accurate to say United States of America is an organization with racist, genocidal roots.

Yes, really.

Margaret Sanger quotes:

quote:

The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.

quote:

[We should] apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring.

quote:

Give dysgenic groups [people with "bad genes"] in our population their choice of segregation or [compulsory] sterilization.

quote:

Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race.

quote:

We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.

Do you want me to post some of the more objectionable quotes of the FOunding Fathers or are you fine with characterizing the U.S.A. as having genocidal and racist roots?

quote:

Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race.

Sounds racist. Except she's talking about the HUMAN race. So not really.

Not terribly relevant either way.

I stand by and supported my assertion that Planned Parenthood is a racist, genocidal organization.

You've offered nothing but your opinion in both rebuttal and support of your own contention.

as usual, you have nothing meaningful or true to contribute.

Right, I get that. But thus far you've only offered evidence that Margaret Sanger was a racist.

Many if not all of the FOunding Fathers were racist , most were misogynists, and a lot of them supported genocide - yet you don't characterize the United States as "a racist, genocidal organization." Seems like you alter your standards of judging an organization as it seems fit to your argument.

So, was she talking about the human race here?

This line of thinking from its founder has left lasting marks on the legacy of Planned Parenthood. For example, 79 percent of Planned Parenthood’s surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of black or Hispanic communities.

So does this mean payday lenders are racist for locating primarily in minority communities?

That isn't the quote I was referring to, shite for brains. I was actually talking about the quote I directly quoted and replied to. Maybe you didn't get that? Are you frickin stupid or something?
quote:

All of our problems are the result of overbreeding among the working class, and if morality is to mean anything at all to us, we must regard all the changes which tend toward the uplift and survival of the human race as moral.

Knowledge of birth control is essentially moral. Its general, though prudent, practice must lead to a higher individuality and ultimately to a cleaner race.

And Margaret Sanger popularized the term "birth control" in the U.S., opened its first BC clinic, and founded the American Birth Control League, which became Planned Parenthood, period. Yes, she had help, but she was THE founder and THE driving force for the movement and the organization. I assume you concede she was a virulent racist (she didn't much care for poor people of all stripes, but "Negros" particularly gave her the willies - especially the idea of millions of little black children running around).

On the other hand, for every racist founder, I can point to one that fought against it - and they didn't have the benefit of the passage of 100 to 140 years of time that Ms. Sanger had and she was doing this in the post-Reconstruction era. Her racist views (and organization) were in that context, not the "status quo".

Don't you libs ever get tired of throwing that word around.....so weak. Facts that have been borne out through generations are not racist.

Actually three women opened the first clinic. Details, details... you've got a vendetta to pursue, why stop at details?

I doubt you can. At the time of the adoption of the Constitution, every state had legal slavery. Only 5 allowed free black men to vote and 1 of those had higher property requirements for blacks.

But go for it.

I'll start it off.

Racist founder:

Thomas Jefferson

(meanwhile - you have yet to provide evidence that Planned Parenthood is racist).

It do. Its fricking sad that I have to. I'd rather not. So stop being racist. Thanks.

Racists always back their racism by saying "Facts". I'm tired of that, too.

Nope.

Remember - if we're going to judge Margarat Sanger by the standards of 2014 - we're going to judge the Founders by the same standards.

So go for it!

Yes....the statement is a generalization and hyperbole.....but no more than all the crap coming out of Ferguson...

....and wrong....I live with and interact with more black people than you ever will....funny thing is....most of the blacks I know are really good people. It's the ones who conduct themselves like animals that give good people a bad name.

So when you say "Blacks _______________" - you mean "Blacks, except the ones I know, __________________", and that makes it not racist?

Got it.
