The fact that there is not a strategy yet is not a problem. It requires gathering intelligence in Syria, understanding what objectives would be (short and long term - are you trying to destabilize Assad, or just disable ISIS? What roles would moderate Rebels play? can we separate them from ISIS?) , and identifying a path to achieve them. That all takes time.

whats sad is the way he stated it. makes the US sound completely clueless.

Obama's not clueless. He doesn't have a plan because he CHOOSES not to.

We are talking about a man who personally interjects himself into the smallest racial issues across the country.

He knows the details of what's occurring and where. That's obvious to anyone paying attention.

The question is: why does he CONSISTENTLY hesitate to interject himself into situations revolving around the militant spread of Islam. Its not like we don't KNOW militant Islam is a threat to the US homeland. 9/11 DID happen right?

Or did I just dream that?

Even if you believe this... Telegraphing to our enemy we have no clue what to do... Is not smart, intellectual, or presidential.

I. Your estimate... How long does that take? And in your estimate... Why haven't we started?

Granted ISIS is new to many of us. But we get our info from the "news". But I find it hard to believe with our intelligence gathering, history in Syria, and everything else in the region we are just now getting to work on figuring out what's going on.

Maybe Obama really does find out about this stuff from watching he news?

To me, it is because it shows either a lack of attention to the issue by the administration or low/bad intelligence in the region. I would be willing to write off the President's JV comment off to low/bad intelligence in the region, but once he realized his error there should have been a full court press to correct that and start planning for various actions to stem ISIS/ISIL growth.

His quote is either intentionally misleading (because he knows they are watching) or is further evidence of this administration's inept international stance.

It was nothing more than a poorly worded careless remark that makes him look like an idiot.

They are working on something. Thats what should have been said.

There was a show on CSpan last night about Democracy and ISIS and one of the reporters asked what the President's strategy was to combat ISIS.

His response: "He's waiting for this show to finish for his answer"

Even just a joke like that is very telling about how people view Obama. These are professionals too!

Not having a strategy has always been our strategy.

No one should be surprised; he was and still is totally unqualified to be Commander In Chief. Honestly, the mere thought of Obama with that title is ridiculous beyond belief.

it was pretty stupid of him to think the american people are intelligent enough to know that the administration is working on a plan.

I could buy into that if not for the previous "JV team" comment.
