People are afraid to say the protest itself is nonsense

In the mainstream the only 2 opinions you hear are 1) you're all-in for the protest and the method, or 2) you're for the protest but disagree with the method.

But I'm against the idea behind the protest itself. A cop has a higher chance of being shot by a black than a black being shot by a cop. The real tragedy in the black community is black on black crime. Check the Chicago murder rate.

Why do you never hear anyone say the above in a mainstream setting?

Because they are racists.

They don't give a shite about their own community.

The only time they speak out is when a white person does something

Because that would require taking responsibility for the problem.

Being a great athlete doesn't make you a great thinker.

it's an empty gesture. meaningless.

when they actually get out and push for real changes, putting their money where their mouths are, addressing crime, out of wedlock births, school dropouts, drug use (and selling), pushing back against the thug/gangsta lifestyle that is celebrated, THEN their opinions/protests matter.

Show us the numbers of cops shot in the line of duty vs the number of people shot by cops.

I don't like these protests but cops in this country have brought this in themselves.

They are by and large irresponsible meat heads who only for the job because they wanted power and their primary objective is not to keep the peace but provoke someone into forcing the cop to take some measure of force.

And there is absolutely zero accountability when they do so.

A cop could walk into your house right now shoot you and your dog and then sexually assault your wife and then just claim whoops wrong address and there is not a damn thing that will ever happen to him.

Cops are indicted and convicted all the time. You may want to dial back the hyperbole if you want to have a real conversation about police brutality.

They also get away with literal murder all the time.

But no one wants to talk about that either.

Simpleton

over 1 million fricking cops in the country

millions upon millions of interactions with the dregs of society when they are doing what dregs of society do

They shoot a few hundred people a year in rates reflective of who is committing the crimes.

You have no understanding whatsoever of statistics and have likely never heard the term "anecdotal evidence".

Decisions regarding public safety can be made based on emotional outbursts.

The guy who started this entire trend refuses to discuss in an open forum why he was protesting. Dan Patrick offered him an entire hour on his show to discuss his protest but he declined.

Probably about 10 times a year.

That's a stupid thing to say.

Decisions made based on emotions and not facts are a large reason why we are in the mess we are in today.

That's 10 too many.

And with all the corruption and cover ups by police and DAs, you can bet it's much more than that.

Is it ok if I label you a racist? I don't care if your OP is factually correct it's just mean spirited. Lol!

I mean at one point you had Kaepernick wearing socks depicting cops as pigs. That's pretty mean-spirited I'd say!

To many it's nonsense. To the protesters and those that are taking their side for whatever reason it's not nonsense.

I think it's OK to disagree with the protesters about their timing but their reasoning is fine as is. I just don't know how effective they are being.

It's having the opposite effect to the degree where if I'm them, I rethink my tactics but not my motivation.

What do I know though?
