Agree. Waste of time. Quit catering to your base and propose something that has a shot in hell if you want to be taken seriously.

Paul Ryan is an amnesty shill who can't be trusted

He is just talking the talk here, would never actually support such a thing. Remember his budget that he negotiated with Patty Murray? Complete joke

Once again, the GOP doesn't know its audience. Meanwhile, the dems just got a nice little marketing tool...again. [...] But who needs to win elections anyway.
Exactly! Republicans need to start spreading some government cheese so they can buy some votes with taxpayer money, too.

Everybody wins!

Everyone I know with a degree in 18th century lesbian poetry thinks this budget is like, a bad idea, so...

nowadays ... hard to know if such a thing may actually exist.

And ... I'm all for food stamp cuts. Hunger is an excellent motivator.

Then, all these radio commercials that I hear can really embellish and say that 80% of America's kids go to bed hungry.

How do all these kids go to bed hungry and wake up as little fat fricks?

I'd rather them cut funding to the EPA and other bloated Govt programs, cut some military, cut subsidies, and do some welfare reform.

It's a waste of time b/c it is not a balanced approach. It has no chance of passing. Having no military cuts is kind of like a democrat proposing a budget with all military cuts and tax increases. It's not going anywhere. It's a complete waste of time.

We need to balance this budget on the backs of the poor and the elderly. its the only solution.

and honestly 5T over 10 years is 500B a year. We need about double that.

Good luck with that . Unreal how either party is so hellbent on maintaining an absurd level of spending on that front.

???

I would describe myself as fairly middle class and yet I had no problem getting Pell grants (at least up until the time I started getting paid for my co-op). Maybe I'm a unique case, though.

You don't even get the point I am making. Why did you "deserve" a Pell Grant in the first place, instead of getting a student loan. The government is giving a "free" education to certain individuals while others are having to get student loans.

It grinds my gears that in this country, the wealthy are being punished so much while the elderly and poor have it so great, living on easy street.

If you're elderly, and especially if you're poor, you need to be penalized. It would do those groups some good. Tough love.

Cut taxes on the rich and raise them for the poor, it's the American way and always has been.
