Trump is getting praised by people for this strike and those same people will never ever advocate for him or even vote for him.
Meanwhile he's getting bashed for this by his core supporters who didn't elect him to be warmonger and he needs them for 2020.
Trump really needs to make sure this is one time deal and do everything he can to contain the fallout.

They are, but not because Syrian's armed forces. The SAA is in a constant struggle with ISIS. The rebels still pose a significant threat to Assad's loyalists.
