re: Our President is tweeting again about Hurricane Dorian & Alabama!

Trump took a minor mistake and has humiliated himself again with his arrogance and has dug a hole for himself that is now a world-wide joke. Really weird.

quote:. Because when he made that statement all the model showed it going up the east coast. And the national weather service had to issue a correction twenty minutes later. We get it he’s only human but why can’t he just admit his mistake and move on.
How was it a minor mistake? All kinds of models showed AL as a potential path? I guess I'm missing the prog outrage?
Instead he pulls out a sharpie and marks up a map that was from 4 days before he made that tweet to try and prove he was right. Dude is a buffoon.

This was also the day AFTER Trump’s original tweet that was based on a map showing a much greater chance of Alabama being hit by stronger winds.
What you posted is the 2 AM Saturday projection. Trump went on national television on Sunday -- a day and a half later, and was saying the same thing about Alabama.
If fact, because of Trump's inacurrate information about Alabama on TV Sunday, the National Weather Service put out an advisory specifically to refute Trumps incorrect statement.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham put out an advisory at 11:11 AM on Sunday, September 1, which read:
quote:
Alabama will NOT see any impacts from Dorian. We repeat, no impacts from Hurricane Dorian will be felt across Alabama. The system will remain too far east.
Trump was too busy playing golf to give the country accurate information on a Category 5 hurricane.

That people may rely on a map displayed by POTUS as being accurate and plan accordingly.
Mainly, it was just a truly silly thing for Trump to do.

I posted this already, but here it is again, the chronology of what precisely happened.
1. NWS/NOAA posts projections that include Alabama being hit. They even showed Dorian crossing Florida and going into the Gulf and clearly striking southern Alabama as recent as Aug. 29th. This is the date of the posterboard Trump showed in his video and drew an extension of the cone with a sharpie on top of the existing cone which was already pointing directly at Alabama with a trajectory crossing Florida. NWS continues to post multiple projection maps showing Alabama with a chance of being hit by hurricane force winds as late as Aug. 31st.
2. Trump makes a statement only 1 day later on Sept. 1st BASED ON THOSE PROJECTIONS that still showed Alabama as being a potential risk.
3. NWS contradicts their own projections. They didn't say, "Trump is wrong", they simply said Alabama is not in danger of being hit by hurricane force winds. IT WAS, however, still in danger of being hit by tropical force winds, which can still reach speeds of 74 mph and cause serious tornadoes and mass flooding.
4. NWS, on Sept. 2nd, the day AFTER Trump's tweet, posts more projections of Alabama being at risk of being hit by tropical force winds still.
5. You TDS retards began shitting on Trump for saying nothing wrong, ignoring the fact he was simply making a statement based on data from the NWS that was less than 24 hours old. Why? Because you’re consumed by hate and dishonest as frick. You twisted the details and are still doing it.
6. Trump defends himself on Sept. 4th by showing the Sept. 29th NWS projection heading straight towards Alabama and crossing Florida, and in that same trajectory draws an extended cone with a sharpie. He does this in a 2 minute video where he explicitly uses PAST TENSE verbiage and explains the NWS "WAS ORIGINALLY" projecting Dorian cross Florida and hitting southern Alabama hard, "but it abruptly changed course and headed north instead".
He DID NOT try to claim that illustration and the sharpie mark was recent. He was very VERY clearly explaining that his entire premise of alerting Alabama originally had merit. Because AGAIN, the NWS was STILL showing Alabama as being at risk all the way up to Sept. 2nd, the day AFTER Trump's original tweet.
7. You TDS afflicted loons go even more apeshit jerking off all over half the galaxy acting like extending the path cone was a gaffe, because you completely failed to address the fact Trump never said anything wrong, because he only ever stated what the NWS had provided. You ignored the fact the NWS seemingly contradicted themselves, AND took what they really said out of context to suit your hate-filled TDS hysteria.

That's the heart of the matter.
This board holds many prime examples of supposedly intelligent (at least by their own proclamation) people making complete FOOLS of themselves because their blinding hatred of the President won't allow them to take a step back and see some of the stupid things they do and say.

But, you defend Trump for as long as you think you need to with however stupid stuff you think might work, because ... you have

This gets to the point that the REASON no one relied on Trump's incorrect and outdated information about Alabama is because the "fake news" aka EVERY news channel including Fox called Trump out for being wrong, lying and creating a FAKE map for a category 5 hurricane! If all people had was Trump then there would have been unwarranted evacuations. Also, why is Trump still hung up on this crap? Shouldn't he be addressing and focusing on those who WERE actually affected by the hurricane? Dude needs to get a grip.
