As you well know, we've made our bed with the Sunnis (really, the House of Saud). The more we meddle and frick with regional politics, the greater the instability and radicalization occurs, and it becomes hard to justify turning away folks whose lives were destroyed because of our own policies, even to our own detriment. It's a tangled fricking web we weave.

This is not a nation of immigrants. It is a nation of citizens.

At what point can I qualify as a non-immigrant? My folks have been here for a while. Even those who came before them did not evolve on this continent.

America wasn't a hot bed of third world immigration until the 1960s and beyond

From a geopolitical point of view, it would have made sense to wait and figure out how we are going to deal with ISIS, as it doesn't make sense to piss off the ally we made through the shedding of American blood (Iraq) or the only consistent anti-ISIS actor. I don't see any situation in which we can deal with ISIS without Iraqi boots on the ground, unless we commit our own troops.

Is there really such a thing that can be called Iraqi boots at this point? Legitimate question.

Anybody born here is not an "immigrant".

Since the fricking Indians crossed the land bridge from Siberia are they "immigrants" too?

I am not an immigrant, I was born here.

Yes. The Iraqi army is leading the battle of Mosul, and there are about 50 Shia militias that want to fight ISIS. I don't see a solution to ISIS without direct Iraqi involvement.

Why isnt Trump banning UAE Turkey and all of countries, Saudi Arabia!!!!! Most of the 9/11 terrorists were from SA. The ban is illegitimate.

Ok then maybe you can see that we're all just people then. People who were born elsewhere cone here, have children, those children have children..etc. All just people, all on grass and dirt, all like America before and after it was called America. Pretty simple, really. Complicating it with populism and nationalism is a paranoid fallacy.

How many illegals/refugees do you have currently living with you?

How many illegals/refugees have lived with you in the past?

Do you plan on having any refugees/illegals living with you in the future? If the answer is yes, you're a bold faced liar. If the answer is no, please elaborate why you won't allow them to live with you.

I'll await your reply.

It was a valid statement. Why should people from other countries come here and stick the taxpayer with the bill? I might feel differently if we balanced the budget every year but we dont.

Ted "what drowned pregnant woman in my abandoned car?" Kennedy was the architect of this change with the 1965 Immigration Act.
