To be honest, the article's implications weren't really that much better.

I took it as more young people need to be involved in entrepreneurship

I guess that's one interpretation.

“This needs to be a national wakeup call. The long-term decline in entrepreneurship is eating away at America’s spirit and competitiveness,” said the foundation’s Chief Executive Wendy Guillies in a press release. She’s calling for more government and community support for start-ups and entrepreneurs and is launching a new initiative to identify and help eliminate the barriers that are in the way.

More big govt handouts for trumpkins!

It was pretty shallow with content and message, I'll agree

but it certainly didn't come close to implying what the OP changed the title too

A great majority of our nation’s small business owners are old, white men
My interpretation of the article is that we don't have enough focus on entrepreneurship.

Either way, I'm not sure how can read that and then reach your conclusion.

The takeaways? The population is changing but the demographics of today’s small business owners aren’t, start-ups are leaving the heartland and are employing less people. Keep that in mind when you hear reports of a growing U.S. economy. “No one lives in the economy,” the report quoted economics and finance columnist Morgan Housel. “They live in their economy, and the gap between the averages and people’s personal experiences can be wide.”

Something trumpkins can't defeat --- capitalism and automation. Bear the fruit of your economic system.

I read it. And I'm not shocked at the conclusion either.

Private businesses aren't diverse enough, let's get government involved to change that.

Yes, yes, that's exactly what a race baiting, WaPo opinion piece is pushing for. You're pretty pathetic.

The economic system? The one that has propelled the world to unseen innovation and standards of living?

Terrible economic system.

Tax breaks, plus other forms of favoritism that are race-based certainly are.

More like "let's get government out of the way."

Unfortunately the only way to do that, paradoxically, is to involve government.
