Ok now they're just going after easy targets and deporting people trying to comply.

One of the best men and fathers you will ever meet just got deported. He was trying to comply and correct his immigration status. He showed up to every INS appointment. He showed up to his court date and they did not let him leave.
His family is here. He speaks perfect English. He volunteers several hours a week coaching kids, paying for equipment out of his own pocket. We coach many kids that would very likely otherwise end up in thuggery.
This guy is a top 1% of 1% human being that we would pick all day every day in an immigrant draft. We just lost an excellent recruit to institutional laziness.
I say this with extensive experience in the immigration system. I am for strict border control. I am for going after people trying to duck the system. This guy wants to be an American, and we got rid of him because he was low hanging fruit.
They're not getting rid of bad hombres. They're deporting people for numbers. All of us that support Trump's immigration policy need to keep these bureaucrats in check. frick this bullshite.

That's what he was going for.
I can tell you it's ridiculous. My wife, mother of an American citizen, had to go through a 2 year, $1500 process to change her student visa to green card. Yes, we were already married with a son.
Our other friend got his green card approved after 18 years.
