Earlier on Thursday, Alex Zalben, managing editor at TV Guide, discovered that Trump's account was linked to Gmail -- which would potentially leave the account vulnerable to hackers. (CNBC was able to confirm Zalben's findings at the time.)

eta: apparently Trump is also still using an unsanctioned device as well
