This is why Frightened Don will continue to hide in the basement. He doesn’t have to pit himself against other candidates and his operatives can claim his victory in abstentia.

There was really no reason for him to be at that first debate.
Yes, he's a candidate and it is "customary" however he is essentially the incumbent leading with a huge margin among Republicans.
He should tell RNC if they want him at debates, he'll wait until it's winnowed down to 2-3 other candidates. There are just too damned many right now.
Of course, last night's questions are also another reason. Almost none about what GOP voters care about.

He should tell RNC, since he is the current legally elected POTUS, to forget about him at debates and he will see whomever in the primary.

The Georgia Bulldogs will continue to hide in the basement. They don't have to pit themselves against my local flag football club so their fans can claim victory in abstentia.
