and here....we.....go

quote:

ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jon Karl reported that according to WH officials “the president will move forward with an executive order on immigration reform “no matter how big a shellacking Democrats get tonight” during ABC’s Election coverage on Tuesday.

Karl said “White House officials are saying that you can expect the president to set an aggressive, and defiant tone tomorrow. You're not going to see any mea culpas, no big firings, no change in direction.”

He added “officials tell me the president is prepared to aggressively pursue his agenda using his power of executive authority, where he can't work with Congress, and the big one is going to be on immigration reform. White House officials tell me that the president will move forward with an executive order on immigration reform no matter how big a shellacking Democrats get tonight.”

Msnbc has been trying to soothe their hurt by ensuring their sheeple of how very very different the American electorate will look in 2016. Makes me want to puke.

Actions and words.

Say you're willing to work with Congress and get the soundbites, do what you want and bypass Congress it goes under reported or unreported by all networks except Fox.

This worked for a while but it would appear that America is on to him. The man now holds the historical record of losing the most House seats during his administration. That has to sting just a bit.

He might as well. Who's going to challenge him? Boehner? McConnell? Don't be silly. They'll piss and moan but won't do a damned thing, because, when it's all said and done, it's what they want anyway.

If they were against it, they would have sided with the Tea Party folks.

My thing is this: what is the benefit to republicans to have blanket amnesty?

Cheap labor. The chamber of commerce Repubs desparately want this to happen. It's why Romney is on the Sunday shows running his fricking mouth about an immigration reform bill being the first priority of a Repub congress.

Because that has worked so well for them in the last two presidential elections.

It was asked in another thread and not really answered so I'll ask it here:
What is the mechanism for blocking EO's?

I am admittedly completely ignorant on this particular subject.

I don't think there's much that can be done. EOs are supposed to be used for policy, not lawmaking.

If the President creates a full-scale law using an EO, then it could be challenged in court, though that's been tried before and hasn't worked.

Since the House holds the purse-strings, the Reps could choose not to fund whatever mechanism is required to carry out the EO.

Dude could care less. If a narcissist was worried about the fallout from narcissism he wouldn't be a narcissist

Well, that's depressing. Last night was a huge message that may well be drowned out by an influx of millions of voters.

I would like to know what the protocol is for fighting EO's, too. It has to be more complicated than Obama simply issuing an EO and it's a done deal.
