There's no way you have quality interaction with a black person if you look at them and "know" they didn't earn their position.
The irony in all of this is that people like you are probably more damaging to race relations than Obama has ever been.

...if respecting people because of the content of their character is damaging to race relations...then...so be it.

I didn't say him alone, genius. I said people like him.

You said that you look at black people and "know" that they didn't earn their position and compared that to the past when you could look at them and only be suspicious of how they attained their position.
How the frick is that respect?

...wrong again. I did not say that I look at black people and know. I said that people who consider such things look at them and say that.
...I personally have promoted black people because of the quality of their work and their character. Their skin color had absolutely nothing to do with their promotion. NOTHING!
...once again, northerners make suppositions about things without knowing about things. Quite typical.

Hmmph, double standards are fine...for them lowly and limited capacity Blacks...huh? The road to perdition...and a tacit admission of racist sentiment! Yuk! I've got Black friends who'd jack slap me if they thought that I viewed them like that.
And I would think that "quality interaction" relates to honesty and fairness, TM. If an unqualified boss's cousin was promoted over you (your honest accomplishment)...you'd have "quality interaction"/ with and respect for them? Not to mention having to carry their job water to avoid disaster on a daily basis.
We've all worked with folk who don't EARN their position, or qualify to wield the power over their fellow man therein. Not good, depending on the relative power therein. Or the implied Social Contract either.
Political, Racial or Family nepotism don't deserve respect; advancement determined by hard work and fairly applied criteria DESERVES RESPECT. A taint of lowering the bar...sucks. I could just see this bs applied on our Tiger Football teammates. They'd throw the Coach out, that pulled that crap.
Be honest, buddy; even if it hurts. The PC version is doing more harm than good. This stuff aint rocket science.

If you're white then you're including yourself in the group of people who look at them and know they didn't earn their position.
I don't know why I'm trying to discuss anything with you anyway.

....respect is earned...not given. The sooner this country makes it's way back to that ideal, the better off we all will be.

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. You're all over the place.
Utopian dream world? Respect is earned not given? What does that have to do with what you said earlier? The entire African American race has to earn your respect before you'll look at one of them and not assume he or she has been given their position in the world? Do you know how ridiculous that is?

"Whitey"? You sound like George Zimmerman with that language you have heard in the movies.
No one uses that language. Next you'll be saying 'jive turkey' .
