I guess someone finally told him that having the employer mandate go into effect right before midterm elections would kill the party.

What are they gonna do? Keep delaying it. We have elections every 2 years. Guess the dems are trying to spread the pain out so it doesnt come all crashing down at once.

On the Democrats bringing a bill to the floor to kill the individual mandate in 2016.

Anyone want to bet?

Insert "must help friends, must help friends" when you would say water, water repeatedly in a desert.

The burden falls to the individual or face a "penalty". A tax by any other name, is still a tax. And if if everyone thinks the first year penalty is a mere $95, I sugggest they look mor carefully. Gonna be a lot of surprises at tax time next year.

Our president has his own agenda, for which I offer the following as food for thought:
Saul David Alinsky (January 30, 1909 – June 12, 1972) was an American community organizer and writer. He is generally considered to be the founder of modern community organizing. He is often noted for his book Rules for Radicals.

How to create a social state by Saul Alinsky:
There are 8 levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the most important.

1) Healthcare – Control healthcare and you control the people
2) Poverty – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
4) Gun Control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.
5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income)
6) Education – Take control of what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school.
7) Religion – Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools……..
8) Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Any of this sound familiar ? Pretty scary to this older TD'er.

Tough call. The Dems shut down the government last fall just to preserve the individual mandate.

Of course they will. When it kicks end he knows the backlash will cost the Dems the Senate and tarnish his already shitty legacy.

It amazes me how little foresight politicians have. They are always so fricking short sighted.

If they knew this is what they would be doing in the coming years, why go through with ObamaCare in the first place?

Why does everyone on the d side love this idea? It's admitting their idea is a big terd everyone has to eat but just wants to delay the meal.

I know it is for the election cycle, it is just pure comedy. They aren't saying how great it is, they are saying hey we know it sucks but we will just delay the suck!!! Sad part is sheeple buy into it!

It isn't. unfortunately, the only constitutional redress for the POTUS acting illegally is impeachment, and you know how likely that is.

on the other hand, the president saying that he won't enforce the law (or will pardon everyone who breaks it as a class), doesn't actually remove the individual's or business's tax liability. The president can pardon someone for a criminal act, but can't simply forgive a tax debt.
Now the next administration could start collecting the tax debts (criminal prosecutions, liens, the whole nine yards).
And if they started the collections with democrat leaning businesses and individuals, well turnabout is fair play...
