About what they think of Putin and the Russian election hack.
Really worth checking out for some good laughs. These are some good ole folks they found in Covington. One baw says if Putin did it then he's glad he did it.

quote:
COVINGTON, La. — “Sour grapes,” explained Bob Marino, 79, weighing in on the recent spycraft bombshell from the corner table of a local McDonald’s.
“Sour grapes,” agreed Roger Noel, 65, sitting next to him.
“Bunch of crybabies,” Reed Guidry, 64, offered from across the table.
quote:
“I don’t think the Russians posed as big a problem to the Clintons as the Clintons posed to themselves,” said Paul Emenes, 49, while he sold ribs, shoulders and chops at a frigid outdoor farmers’ market in Covington. Russian hacking was concerning, sure, Mr. Emenes said. He added that, as long as Mr. Trump was not involved himself, “it doesn’t change the way I view him.”
quote:
Tina Gunaldo, 44, taking blankets off the citrus trees in her Mandeville, La., front yard after the previous night’s frost, had a similar attitude.
“Trump is Trump,” she said. “Do I think he’s going to become more of a friend to Russia because of this? No I don’t. I think — I hope — his focus will be on making America great again.”
quote:
“I don’t believe it,” Mr. Yates, 78, said flatly of the intelligence report. He was standing in the yard under his “Make America Great Again” flag, which he bought at a gun show several months ago. “Why would Putin even want Trump?”
Mr. Yates, who is retired from a career in pharmaceutical sales, was not concerned about what Mr. Trump might do in office, but said he was deeply alarmed about what President Obama might do before he leaves office.
It was Mr. Obama who was too soft on Russia, who let Mr. Putin get away with things, Mr. Yates continued. Mr. Trump would be much tougher.
But Mr. Yates then added: “Why is everybody so afraid of Russia? I’m not against Putin.”
quote:
In Louisiana, David Gubert, 56, chain-smoked Eagle 20 cigarettes in the cab of his pickup, with stacks of firewood for sale behind him in the bed. Like the Willises, he ruminated on what it would mean if the Russians had gotten involved, and possibly even swung the election.
But Mr. Gubert came to a different conclusion.
“If that’s what it took,” he said, “I’m glad they did it.”

I love these types of segments and articles
They behave as if they're visiting North Korea

I can tell by their writing styles that these co-authors look down on and deride everyday Americans.
Ivory tower liberal elitism and "journalism" at its finest.

They talk about normal everyday Americans like they're observing some kind of zoo exhibit. It's hilarious.

They should come down more often and mingle with the people of south Louisiana. We'd love so show these uppity northeast elites how to relax and have a good time.

Seriously, The Advocate should send a reporter to NYC and find the most idiotic urban liberals to ask what they think.
Also make sure to be clear in your writing that you think they are uneducated rubes who don't serve a vote.
Then we'll be even.

Also to be fair:
NYT would not be allowed to conduct an interview of the people in NK.
In Covington, they would be received, well fed, given an honest interview, and sent home with the invitation to come back. They might even learn what a "grit" is.

Did they interview anyone hanging out under the shadow of the Reagan statue in downtown Covington?

I assume many of the people posting here don't read the nyt regularly. The most important thing in their reporting are the details they put in that are essentially unnecessary.
Sometimes it's quotes or the status of married or employed. Sometimes it's the location. Almost half of the people they mention, the writer notes their career.
Tree farmers get government subsidies. Pharmaceutical sales are big liberal government allies. If someone is selling ribs, they are probably getting farm subsidies.
This is another confirmation that people who think trump is small government are the ones who benefited from large government.
The chain smoking dude is a nice touch I have to say, as he is directly the reason insurance rates increase. Smoking is a major health liability.

Guess they were smart enough to realize that trump wasn't a small government conservative.
Might need a new narrative there buddy.

If they don't know what a grit is, I don't particularly have a desire to know them. It's a double edged sword.

It won't take very long to get tons of material there, especially around Manhattan.
Didn't Jesse Watters do something like this before?

Easy enough to explain. Tell them once and they'll remember it takes 15-20 minutes, unless they're instant grits, or the laws of physics cease to exist on your stovetop.

This has to be a put on.

That poster is a typical Prog. That is what they think of others who do not walk lock-step with them. It is no different than how you would view your IRL enemy.
As for the article, I think this is great. Hope it is published and held up high for everyone to see the disdain that the left has for those who work hard and try to make a living. I love it.
