NY Mayor is acknowledging the police did their job

The NY Mayor is going to change police training and policy. This is essentially acknowledging the police did their job as trained and according to procedure. This was not an individual or individual's who acted outside of thier job duties or of racism. The family should sue the city directly because the mayor has publicly acknowledged it was a training and policy problem.

Comrade Deblasio and the nanny state socialist policies I.E. The insane New York cigarette taxes are responsible for the extrajudicial execution of Garner, Deblasio ordered the crackdown on illegal cigarette sales. Garner was killed as an example.

If the guy wouldn't have resisted,he would be alive today.

Perhaps not. Health was really bad.

There are a hundred different ways he could still be alive today. 1 of those involves Officer Pantaleo.

I agree the officer has a degree of responsibilty. But the bottom line is when being told you are under arrest, don't fight the police.

I agree. Way too many police officers who will cross the line. And way too tough to win that case when they do.

If the Founding Fathers hadn't resisted Great Britian, America wouldn't be here today
If Rosa Parks hadn't resisted authority, Civil Rights may not have been granted to blacks.
Resistance to authoritarianism is a good thing. Maybe we will finally crack down on police overreach. It's a goddamn untaxed cigarette. Just write him a ticket and/or confiscate the items.

Officer Pantaleo did exactly what his employer trained him to do and what his employers policies instructed. The mayor has acknowledged this.

In all honesty I don't know what happened before the takedown happened. But I still say if you are being arrested, don't fight the police. You're not going to win.

Is the choke hold banned by nyc police policy?
Did the officer place him in a choke hold?

It wasn't a chokehold, it was a takedown hold. Meant to subdue an uncooperative suspect (which he was) and bring him down to cuff him.
Every single tackle in every single college football game played this weekend will be ten times more violent than what was done to him.
What bothers me is how they just stood around AFTER he was down, why no CPR? I do not however have a problem with him being brought down or how it was done.
