I don't know why they are backing down . Most fans have already given up on them . Maybe they think the fans will come back ? I don't think they will be able to keep their players egos in check enough be able to back away. If they back down then they better get Trumps approval on the way they are doing it . It only takes one statement from Trump and the Thugs will act a fool again.

Today the NFL tried to spin their way out of the mess they created by saying it has nothing to do with the flag or national anthem. The media is playing right along.

Originally, it had to do with protesting police brutality. They picked the wrong venue/symbol to protest and fans didn't like it.

Maybe next time Odel Beckham pretends to be a dog peeing, he can do it on a flag. That would show us he hates police brutality!

They're fricking idiots

Yep. The kneelers got roundly booed at Foxboro - in a state where HRC carried every county. They don't even have the support of a lot of libs.

I love how all of the sudden it's not about the national anthem or the flag

It never was.

Kaepernick was protesting police violence and inequality. He kneeled during the anthem because that's how he got attention. A handful of other players have done the same.

No one really cared and it was a dying protest until Trump decided to make it national news by saying the players should be fired. Now it gets overblown and NFL players circle the wagons and kneel in solidarity with their teammates.

Trump succeeded in getting his base riled up and distracting from several negative news stories, so good job?

Here are some quotes from players. It's clear the kneeling was never about the Flag or disrespecting the military.

They also seem to have gotten the talking point of calling Trump 45 rather than president because of his SOB remark.

Lie, story was not going away. Youth teams started taking a knee and more and more players were taking a knee, because they believe Kaperdick was being black balled, which I am sure is true. So, Trump IMO, did the right thing. The NFL should have put a end to this thing last year, but terrified of the backlash from the lib media, well now they are getting backlash from their fans, who mostly wrap themselves in the flag and anthem, so the nfl and playters deserve all the hell they are getting

I have to believe Trump planned this whole thing. I honestly don't know why people keep going up against him. He always comes out looking better than he did before. All he did was improved his chances of winning again in 2020. A public relations masterstroke of you ask me.

They chose poorly. They should've said frick their teammates and their stupid kneeling instead they tried to make a stand against the greatest PR guy in the world and they lost. fricking idiots. We should all point and laugh at them.
