If no arrests are made you can't say if it was an immigrant or not that committed the crime. Makes sense it is no included.

14% of the American prison population is comprised of illegal immigrants

I think that it's actually much higher than that. Adding county and state jails, I think it's closer to 35%....and thats the ones who have been convicted and sentences to incarceration.

I'll put it to you this way. The left is worried about ICE arresting people, because it keeps people from coming forward to help solve crimes. Crime in immigrant/poor/black neighborhoods is much higher than everywhere else. Either allfuent whites are terrorizing those neighborhoods or they are doing it to themselves.
The left would call me a racist for pointing this out, but it doesn't make it any less true.

This is just for federal prisons.

The GAO stats are well before the surge of criminal aliens.

From the GOA link.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) estimated that as of fiscal year 2009 the total alien--non-U.S.-citizen--population was about 25.3 million, including about 10.8 million aliens without lawful immigration status. Some aliens have been convicted and incarcerated (criminal aliens). The federal government bears these incarceration costs for federal prisons and reimburses states and localities for

Thats 10.8 out of 25.3.

What percentage is that???

Crime overall has been on the down swing for decades and there are countless studies showing illegals commit crimes at a lower rate than natives....ahhhhh but they all committed the crime of illegal immigration though, aghhhhhhh!

Yeah, no problem there, huh? Of course The New York Times blames the system and not the avalanche of lawbreakers coming from south of the border.

I want to read this study, but am extremely skeptical of the results. It's listed in the Jounral of Ethnicity in Criminal Behavior. Seems like such profound results would be found in a more prestigious journal.
