Right, because a Republican controlled legislature in Florida is exactly the same situation as facing off against the DC swamp.

I have mentioned this more than once and not a peep.

Really doubt a repub is winning Nevada again. Their "repub" Gvnr just had to sign a pro-abortion law.

The GOP has controlled congress in Florida for as far back as I can remember, yet DeSantis still got more done than any other governor. He also took it from a simple majority to a super majority. Compare and contrast.

Does this say more about DeSantis or the GOP?

It still doesn't mean jack if DeSantis is in the White House without the Senate and House. How is he going to do any better without the same controls he has in Florida?

That's all I've asked before.

id be happy to kick trump in the balls but being honest I point out you only have 500 registered voters.
not even likely voters
so both the results are +5% (at least) margin of polling error. that means there's no difference at all. none.
signed, wet blanket.

How is he going to do any worse? He's shown that he's deliberate, he knows the law and he researches how to effect change that will last, not just sign EOs that evaporate with the next governor. Do I know he'll do better than Trump? Obviously not, any more than you know he won't. But all the evidence points (IMO) to him being more effective given similar circumstances. Trump has proven to be ineffective at working with a GOP controlled congress and a Dem controlled congress. I don't think it's unreasonable to look at a guy with no small amount of executive success and think maybe he can do a better job.

If I honestly thought Trump could win in 2024 and had the best chance of doing so I’d be all over him. I was on the Trump train in 2015, then Cruz, then jumped back onto the Trump train and rode it all the way til 2022.

The lack of a red wave, the metrics we got from it, and the fact that DeSantis locked up Florida has convinced me that he’s the man that can actually win a GE.

I know that there’s a lot of posters here who can’t be swayed but I know that this site gets a lot of views from lurkers and I hope that I can sway some of them. Most of my posts are done in jest in response to some of the more passionate posters on this board and I have fun doing it but they aren’t meant to be malicious.

I’m going to be having children with my future SO within the next 5 years and it scares me that this country could be given over to the left quasi permanently if they can win more seats in congress and get another activist President in.

In response to the polls, I don’t believe they can truly be viewed as accurate in a general sense until we see much larger sampling sizes done after the debates. I don’t believe Trump could win a GE, but if he does win the nomination I’ll do my best to ensure people vote for him and I hope he does. That’s always been my position.

We cannot let democrats win in 2024.

That is the key imho.
He did so by cleaning up some sketchy voting.
Voting is a states rights issue.

He deserves credit for doing so.

Nonetheless, it doesn’t change what I posted.

A Florida legislature with a Supermajority is not the same as battling the DC swamp.

To argue otherwise is moronic.

The question to you is how will Trump do any better? He had a hard time building consensus 2016-2020. It will be even harder for him if he wins in 2024. He will be a lame duck.

The last Republican president we had won it twice and four of their last five governors have been Republicans.

These threads are beyond stupid

Always the same 4 never trumpers and a couple of wacko lefties piling on to stir the pot. The next year + is going to be insufferable. Jjdoc posts are our best hope - since these 4 pansies are likely vaxed, maybe the Jjdoc posts will push a couple over the edge into a clot or aneurysm.

I've replied to this talking point multiple times.

First of all, Trump had the House and Senate for his first two years in office. He did little with that because he's a shitty leader. DeSantis didn't have that problem.

Second, DeSantis has not only maintained that majority in the Florida legislature, he's grown it. We need more of that in DC.

Already answered as to how that could (and probably would) be the case. It would take dismantling the Swamp. Could he do it, maybe, but the Swamp sure as frick isn’t a supermajority in Florida. They WILL fight him to the bitter end.

Agreed, which is why I want him as President for ten years.

No - he didn’t.

He had RINOs that fought him at every opportunity.

Your narrative doesn’t hold up to scrutiny.

Florida is not DC.

Your equivalency is false.
