NBC News Under Fire For Trying to Kill Bombshell Weinstein Story

More information is coming out about NBC. They didn't just "pass" on the Weinstein story; they tried to kill it.

Why did Ronan Farrow, an investigative journalist for NBC News (an entity we defended earlier), break his giant scoop on Harvey Weinstein's alleged sexual assaults in The New Yorker, rather than on the network that employs him? That was a question on many people's minds after the shock of the story itself began to settle in, as CNN's Jake Tapper was one of the first to publicly flag the disconnect. Within a day or two, the ugly answer has begun to take shape: NBC very much appears to have bent over backward to suppress the story, impede its progress, and ensure that it never reached the air. Brian Stelter, also at CNN, reported that the axe had come down from on high:
quote:
NBC contributor Ronan Farrow pursued leads about Harvey Weinstein's misconduct for months, but NBC passed on the chance to publish his story. "Ronan was basically told to stop working on this," according to a source, who called the network's decision "indefensible." Other sources with knowledge of the talks said NBC encouraged Farrow to take his investigation to a print outlet. What happened at NBC is a media world mystery. Did the network's executives not have the stomach for the inevitable legal threats? Were they trying to protect relationships in Hollywood? Did they simply believe that the complicated story was better suited to a long-form or print format? Or were there other reasons? The sources who spoke with CNN on condition of anonymity said they don't know exactly why. But there is frustration and embarrassment inside NBC News about missing out on the story.

Because they aren't biased. Duh.
Is this the part where the Progs mock you, or does that come later?

Story I’ve heard is that the head of NBC news is a still-active Hollywood screenwriter.
It becomes a question as to whether he killed it to preserve his own career or in the hopes of favors down the line.

I find it hard to believe that a news organization that brought us the likes of Brian Williams, the doctored Zimmerman 911 call and the GM side-saddle gas tank explosion story would engage in this sort of shenanigans

The MSM is all owned and operated by a small handful of corporations. They do their bidding.

NBC's agenda is dictated by Media Matters for America. The owner of MMfA is the former gay lover of Podesta's buddy in the Pizzagate scandal.
This is the group that has been covering up the sex ring amongst the elite of our elite for years:
Media Matters (founded by David Brock)
These are the guys that helped Hillary take down Bernie. They DO NOT want the media getting to the point of realizing that this whole thing is not just a single abusive guy, but that he was a big player in a sex ring involving Hollywood and (mostly Democrat) political figures.

Brian Roberts who:
Since 2006, Roberts has donated more than $76,000 to Democratic candidates, and $13,500 to Republican candidates
In December 2009, Roberts wrote a letter to President Barack Obama, endorsing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act

quote:We've discussed this before, but Tapper was reporting on the fact that the Russians were trying to get dirt on Trump to essetially blackmail him, AND the intelligence community had briefed Trump (and I believe Obama) about it. He wasn't reporting on the details of the dossier, that all of the networks had for some time, nor was he even reporting that the details were true, the story was about the Russian attempting to influence things and the intelligence community taking it seriously.
He was exposed as a shill in his dossier teleporting
Then when Buzzfeed, and their terrible journalistic standards, released the details Tapper was scathingly critical of it, pointing out that it's as inappropriate and poor journalism. Yet, you've conflated Buzzfeed's report with Tapper's (and Bernstein as well) and used that as criticism of Tapper. It's ridiculous, but every time Tapper does something of journalistic integrity, this is your authomatic retort. Does the fact that you have to keep using that same retort in response to solid journalism by Tapper, not making you question whether your conclusions about Tapper and the dossier are incorrect given that it's counter to what you're refuting, and it's more and more evidence that he's not doing what you're arguing.

The others are families that together own controlling interest and he in court won so its literally just him with controlling interest. But that said the Redstone daughter owns the other 20% to his 80%
So there is that
