Us so when I'm stopped by a cop I can say I choose not to obey that particular law (Yeah I Know like the Pres.)

All you state rights nuts should rejoice at the state level doing this not the Feds. or is that different?

I guess law and order types can pick and choose which laws to follow.

You mean like the Connecticut legislature ignoring the 2nd Amendment?

You do realize this Navy veteran is subject to arrest, correct? He is breaking the law and he acknowledges that. It appears he is prepared to defend his rights and face the consequences if he's wrong.

So, as long as you are likewise prepared, you are free to tell the cop just that.

Actually, the current jurisprudential rule is that states cannot impose any greater restrictions on a constitutional right than the federal government can. It can give greater rights; however, it cannot restrict beyond what is allowed.

The argument is that what Connecticut has done goes beyond allowable restriction.

states rights you know! Half the Board thinks states should over rule Washington on abortion, gay marriage etc. even Obamacare. My point is silly of course. I guess that is their interpretation of the 2 nd Amendment.

You seem confused.

A citizen engaging in civil disobedience against a law he was NEVER for is not exactly the same as a guy refusing to implement his own fricking law.

Not to mention it's different than someone who is BY JOB supposed to ENFORCE the law deciding that he doesn't have to follow it but he'll still enforce it upon you.

I agree with that. tell that to those who oppose Supreme Court decisions on abortion, gay marriage and if the SC imposed more strict gun control, would you abide by that? of course not

You don't even understand it
A state can't repeal an EXPLICITLY ARTICULATED right. Your other examples are shite.(even though I happen to be fine with gay marriage)

Well. To his credit. He seems to readily reveal that his #1 method for decision making is emotion.

Thats the point. The 2nd Amendment is open to interpretation by the Supreme Court.

You lefties think EVERYTHING is "open to interpretation".

If the constitution is as impossible to understand by lay people as the left would have us believe, then it is a completely irrelevant document that may as well be burned.
