Just as the interested populace believes that they are on the brink of disclosure, the Navy bolts the door shut to any new info. I completely understand this position if the UAPs are of terrestrial origin.
However, I don't believe that if there is evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence as the source, that it should be held from the public.
Of 3 first videos released by the government, USS Nimitz, GIMBAL, and GOFAST, I believe there is nothing special to see, as there are simple explanations to what the videos actually show.( Check out Metabunk for more if you want to deep dive.) There are two others that come to mind, one of "an object in the distance descending into the ocean," and "pyramid shaped UAPs" at night. Both are proof of nothing.

My point is, that if UAPs are evidence of extraterrestrial life, then the Government has the duty, NAY, the moral obligation to disclose as such. Evidence of life outside of our planet will break the paradigm that man is the only intelligent life in the Universe and on Earth. Everything that we currently believe would be affected in some way. Science, religion, how we see ourselves in society, how we plan our future, how daily news would change, how literature would change, how entertainment would change, how social media would change. Learning of extraterrestrial life would reset humankind for a different path forward than this merry-go-round we find ourselves on now.
Here's my take. UAPs are of terrestrial origin. The government knows what they are. If there was actual evidence that UAPs were extraterrestrial, by now, there would have been at least one whistleblower from somewhere around the world that would have presented undeniable proof. Think about it. If you saw evidence, no matter what the threat, how could you not tell loved ones? That information couldn't stay hidden long.
It's always: The truth will come out tomorrow. I think the truth is evident. Because of space/time and physics, we'll always feel alone.
