You will lose in 2018 if thats who becomes the Speaker. The south absolutely despises her and most of the other Red States. If you place an Adam Schiff as minority leader and shake things up you could win in 2018.

The dems won't win again until they dump Pelosi and Schumer. If the dems want to win in 2018 they need to replace Pelosi with Tim Ryan ASAP.

It's really unbelievable she is still strong enough to fend off any challengers? Think about her coming into power in 2006 then losing the House in 2010. It's been 7 years since that lose and 4 elections without power in the House.

They've been getting their heads kicked in since 2010, and rather that respond to the glaringly obvious centrist preferences of the electorate, they just move more and more to the left. It's beautiful.

Schumer isn't despised like Pelosi and heck Harry Reid was way less popular than Schumer.

The Democrats have NEVER held the House without ~15% pro life Democrats. Where has those folks not been purged under Pelosi?

Exactly.
They need to focus on economic opportunity. They need to admit they screwed up healthcare and offer meaningful fixes based on consumer choice. They need to support flexibility for workers. They need to moderate on social issues.
Hard part will be getting the voters to trust them after the disastrous results the last time they were in power.

Hard to sell being pro life Democrat with Pelosi as benefactor of your win. That's the biggest reason Democrats are in trouble.
