Do you realize this is a contradictory statement unless you are arguing to strike down RvW?

bullshite. It's the correct answer.

As president, rand can influence policy, but it's ultimately up to the people to decide. It's the way things should be. It's the essence of states rights.

The people did decide - a majority of states had abortion either illegal or, effectively so. In some states, abortion was legal.

Supreme Court (7-2) said, "frick your 'States rights' in the ear. Abortions are legal everywhere."

Being for states rights is to be against Roe v. Wade, period.

(FTR - I do not have a political objection to abortion.)

Ok....why wouldn't you post his reply?

Because, I suspect, it's not about Rand Paul. That's at least the second time he has big-timed the PT board. Rand is a prop for storytime.

If you're conservative and wouldn't vote for Rand then there's no candidate that would ever satisfy you and have any shot at winning office anywhere

You're missing the point, elprez.

GumboPot is saying that the way the OP worded the quote is contradictory:

quote:

"It is against my personal belief system, but it is the settled law of the land.

National.

quote:

Further, it is a state's right's issue."

State.
