The real question is did CNN call Price before they ran the story and give him a chance to comment or provide additional information?

OK, I see what you're saying.

The information in the OP also states he was made aware of the transaction in early April l, reported it 2 weeks later.

So clearly the staffer spun the "work started" part as work on overall reform related to the HIP act, which was proposed much later and was the key piece to the story. It was still proposed before he was allegedly made aware of the rebalance.

CNN probably should have gotten both sides of the story.

I wouldn't call this "fake news" (most of what is called that isn't). I would definitely call it shitty reporting by an organization that doesn't hide its agenda to demonize Trump and the right in general.

Yeah, I guess it's not quite as bad as the fake news about the Ft. Lauderdale airport shooter and CNN.

If a democrat had structured a stock purchase and then introduced legislation for that specific company you would be shouting from the rooftops about how unethical it was. You're a shameless hack.

And the horse they rode in on.

On a side note, I still remembe the first time someone said "frick" on td.com. And it was a female.

It was posted here. They even claimed that CNN had doctored the photo to make the guy appear more white

Dude -- welcome back from your interplanetary space travel. While you were away, CNN has consistently avoided "both sides of the story" in an effort to promote an agenda to cause turmoil with PEOTUS and more importantly, create news in an effort to drive up revenue.

They create a narrative and avoid the full set of facts. By definition, CNN is FAKE NEWS.

The term fake news has jumped the shark when it has replaced "shitty journalism." There is clearly something to the investment, so it's not completely manufactured.

Perhaps we should define fake news. It's become as bad as "racist." Just a one liner insult with no real meaning.

I know. I'm sure the usual suspects rushed to admit that they had fallen hook, line and sinker for fake news (that was targeted at gullible Trumptards like themselves.)

I disagree. Shitty journalism is being too lazy or too incompetent to produce an accurate description of events.

Purposefully omitting information and /or contextualing information in direct conflict with reality to create a false narrative that attacks a policital opponent is the essence of fake news.

Yikes. Does CNN do anything other than half-hearted hack pieces?

I agree with all that.

Unfortunately, even if the original article was correct it is completely legal because Congress is not held to same standards as ordinary citizens. Not saying it is right, but it is legal.

Yep. I hate them all.

Purposefully omitting information

From one of the links I provided

quote:

An aide to Price said that the stock was purchased by a broker without Price's knowledge at the time. This explanation led Schumer to offer the caveat that Price broke the law "if he knew about" the purchase before introducing the bill.

contextualing information in direct conflict with reality

True, but that was not the case in this particular CNN article. Nevertheless, if this is your standard, then 95% of the links provided by either side on this site is "fake news".

The OP exemplifies it perfectly. If they didn't know from the outset, CNN certainly knows specifics about Price's investments now.

Yet CNN continues to insinuate doubt about Price's ethics in conjunction with investments.

That is not "bad journalism".
Bad journalism is a sin of Omission.

It is Fake News.
Fake News is a sin of Commission.

What do they know now that they didn't know when the articles were published? They stated that his reply was that the buy was broker driven.

They have reported Schumer's allegations and the facts that they know at this point. They've made no judgements as to the possible outcome. But this issue will be a part of his confirmation, however it turns out, and they're reporting it. By definition, this is news.

Yep.

Plus there has been no retraction; no mea culpa from CNN. They're letting the insinuations of the fake enws report stand. Why? Poltics. CNN is a shill, a mouthpiece for the Democrat Party.
