More divisive than ever in 2017, or just more publicized?

Being 30, I don't really remember the early 90s and the black white race junk, for those who are older, do you find the people more devisive now in 2017 than ever, or is it just more widely publicized now than ever with the social media and 24/7 news stations.

To answer your question, it's not as bad as the 60s. That was a legitimate movement though. This is entirely different and is mainly just knuckleheads and idiots.

It is not make believe that the current president lost the popular vote by almost 3 million. This division is real. He has no popular or majority support.

To me it's not even close. Rodney king, OJ, all of that got blown up nation wide but nothing compares to the Facebook and Twitter commentaries like I ever remember.

When a Dem wins there is 'unification.' When the GOP wins there is 'division.'

It's all explained right here:

Social media brings out the inner snowflake in historically quiet nerd types.

They feel emboldened now because they can whine and cry to their 200 followers.

It's really strange if you ask me but that's what we are left with now.

Yeah remember those anarchist Tea Party folks.

Trump has done nothing to affect anyone yet. Yet he is the Devil.
Obama routinely ignored the Constitution and Federal law, he was godly in his wisdom.

What I don't get is the double standard. If one side shows support for his or her views they are belittled and called racist hateful and attacked, but it's completely acceptable for the other side to show disdain and that's just "their rights"

I'd say the civil war was pretty divisive

This is an extremely asinine statement. Both houses of Congress are controlled by the Republicans, he won the popular vote in a MAJORITY of states, and the GOP controls most governorships and state legislatures.

The election of Donald Trump wasn't a fluke.

In WWII "unity" meant shared sacrifice. To the progressives, "unity" means everyone else should indulge their every whims.

For the last decade or so, the media has fawned over anyone who had some complaint that they were not being treated fairly or were offended by something.

They're mad now because Trump doesn't give a shite about these types of complaints.

The amount of importance the left puts on the Presidency doesn't make any sense. It's truly odd. It's like they would be fine with the GOP holding every other office on the country as long as their candidate wins the Presidency.

Only their side can be right. That's their view of the world.

That's the divisive nature of progs. They don't want compromise.

Turds who used to be hidden from society now have a voice via social media.

This is the most divisive I've seen it in my lifetime thanks to a president who spent 8 years dividing the country as much as possible.

Most of their premise is based on false narratives. And the media is largely responsible for this. They are very dangerous and are the real threat to America because it's pretty much turned into full blown colluding (as WikiLeaks showed) with one side through propaganda.

Many of these people protesting want total control over everything and think they have a right to it any possible way they can. Screw the democratically elected process.

They're the real authoritarians. And they're far from tolerant.
