Both method was tried and true, both were killed fighting for their people rights. In the end, looking back on history now, which man had the bigger impact for civil rights. I know MLK is more celebrated but without MX strong arm tactics and willingness to fight back would MLK peaceful overture had made a difference?

my boy malcolm x had a quote about just this:
quote:
I want Dr. King to know that I didn't come to Selma to make his job difficult. I really did come thinking I could make it easier. If the white people realize what the alternative is, perhaps they will be more willing to hear Dr. King.

quote:MLK, and it's not even close. I say that as someone who deeply respects Malcom X.

X, bc King integrated us into a burning house,

MLK, and like NC_Tigah, I think Malcolm X is somewhat underrated.

Malcom X needs more love, IMO.
ETA: And come on, how cool is it to have "X" as your surname? I know swag wasn't his reasoning behind that, but damn

What in the frick is this supposed to mean?
Tread lightly...

You seem perplexed that i'm questioning why a man in an interracial marriage would have sympathies for a man that preached separation of the races? I don't understand what your implying towards me?

Some pretty great men (IMHO) founded this country, and some of them owned slaves. I'm not too jazzed about this fact, but I still admire a lot about Thomas Jefferson.

This not quite the case with Malcom. He was killed by the Nation of Islam, who claim they were fighting for his people's rights. But Malcom changed his thinking on race, saying all believers where brothers regardless of race. The NoI, and likely Farrakahn himself, took him out.
