Mills College (women's college in CA) is having financial difficulty

just three years after deciding they were going to allow transgendered women to enroll.
Daily Caller
Mercury News
Now class,
Notice the former article mentioned the transgendered admission in the headline and in the lead. It is an important aspect of the story.
The latter does not mention the transgendered admission. This is a war on women's college. The unprofessionalism of the Daily Caller article (using the term "dudes") and the outright misinformation of the Mercury News article are both examples of bad journalism.
Inside Higher Ed, a site devoted to higher education, also declined to mention the transgendered issue: LINK
But, they did provide this statistic
In 2013-14 (pre-transgendered admission), the college had 1,827 applicants, admitted 1,242 and enrolled 217 first-year students.
In 2015-16 (post), the college had 839 applications, admitted 639 and enrolled 139 first-year students.
Bold emphasizes my additional comments on the dataset. IHE did not believe that was important.

Imagine the odor of that place. Likely smells of body odor, unfiltered cigarettes and loneliness.

The cats are drawn by the strong scent of tuna.

Someone's mental disorder does not make them a woman or man. Compassion and understanding for a particular persons mental illness does not include feeding into their delusion. We don't give alcoholics vodka telling them it's the world that's too sober. We don't allow stomach stapling of anareoxics, while telling them healthy body size is obesity.
