After delivering a powerful speech last month on the removal of Confederate monuments from his city, Landrieu made national headlines and won praise from Democratic strategists looking for ways to ignite hope in their party.

I know the Dem bench is thin but I didn't realize it was this thin.

Not a chance in hell. That clown couldn't win his home state

My God they are scraping the bottom of the barrel with that pandering scumbag.

How sad is the talent level in the Democratic party, or rather the state of the party in general, when a guy can become a dark-horse candidate for president due to a symbolic gesture of social justice?

I hope this happens just for the embarrassment of Him and the party. He would get absolutely hosed.

He may have removed the statues just to get this kind of attention, and what's sad about it is it may have worked

Don't kid yourself. It's basically the ONLY reason.

"Ignite hope" by snatching some statues down, this is where they are now...

Couple of problems with that
1)Most of the city of New Orleans hates him right now over how the statues were removed
2)The state hates him because they were removed
3)The idea of La going blue over Landrieu makes me chuckle.

In other words, it had nothing really to do with people in Louisiana.

Lord I hope so, Americans aren't as fricking stupid as our New Orleans brethren to put this piece of shite in office
