Why is it when a crime is committed by a white skinned person the headlines make sure to point it out so that everybody knows. But when its another race suddenly the media is colorblind?

As soon as I heard of this shooting this morning, I switched to CNN to observe their coverage. Within 10 minutes they were reporting 'a white male opened fire on a group of congressmen . . . .' This would never ever ever be uttered like that if it were a 'black' or 'muslim' shooter. At best they would offer a tidbit at the end of their reportage about the 'shooter being described as a black' - they would NEVER say 'a black male opened fire on . . . "

My issue is that it's only when they're white that race is mentioned or -as in the case of George Zimmerman- they make up a race ("white hispanic") in order to point it at white (so they can manufacture racial tension, which sells more papers, gets more viewers, etc).

I don't think they'll have much of a choice with the way this played out. It would have been interesting to see how it played out had DeSantis not been interviewed so early.

Remember the killing/s in Canada about a year ago? It was 4 or 5 days before it finally came out that the killer was Muslim.
