Is it just me or has every move she made been strictly racially motivated? Why is no one in office doing anything about this nonsense? BR has hundreds of other problems that are extremely more important than "bringing unity" to BR. Who the hell does she think she is to shift all of her focus to a non-existent problem instead of encouraging businesses to move here, fixing the roads, and stimulating economic growth? What a fricking joke. BR is LA's only hope and has the most potential to grow once Mitch the Bitch completely ruins the most unique city in the US. But hey, Houston is just 4 hours down the road.

Broome won for 3 main reasons: black block vote, white voter apathy, and having a very weak opponent.

She fooled a lot of voters into thinking that she was more of a business-friendly moderate; more in the mold of Kip Holden. Once she got into the runoff, she took a hard black-first turn in order to get the voters who had previously supported C. Denise Marcelle. I don't think the whites who voted for Broome were expecting her to turn into a full on racist once she was elected.

They were probably expecting her to do what Kip did. I bet they miss him now.

4th reason: it didn't rain on election day. Sadly.

You are correct. She seems incapable of doing or saying much of anything without bringing up the subject of race.

I've been wondering the same thing myself. I imagine that it's because anyone who speaks against her policies will be labeled a racist by her administration. Still, I can't believe that the white citizens of Baton Rouge are going to just sit around while she runs the city into the ground.

The mayor-president.

You know what, she will win re-election. That is what Baton Rouge is now. We are watching it crumble. #RIPBR

It would be fair to say she won by pretending to be Kip one day and then by playing the race card the next day.

Broome is supposed to run parish govt. and not just the city, but she doesn't.

Broome has tilted completely towards pushing s black first agenda. It's all sbout filling positions with her prople, about boosting NBR, favoring her political allies and not much about the rest of the parish.

As each and every day passes, Kip Holden looks better and better. Can he run next time?

Maybe they just think that St. George is the only solution. If you think about it, BR could be one huge metropolis if the politics were in check and the taxing was fair. Last biggest port on the MS, an hour from NOLA (DFW kind of potential), and an hour from Mandeville. It could be like one giant loop of large scale development. Too bad that it'll never happen.

Have you heard some of the crap that her supporters have said? They bitch because whites won't do business in NBR, then they turn around and call for a boycott of white-owned businesses. No serious investors, white or black, want to open a business in NBR because of the out of control crime, yet Broome and her cronies blame whites for all of NBR's problems.

You should read the report her transition team produced. It's crazy shite!

It's also an economic dead zone. No one there even has any money to spend. But of course, it's a race problem.

Her political allies will get paid by the govt. to do studies on what NBR needs, her allies will get govt. grants to do business in NBR and pay themselves good money until they shutter, and her allies will get govt. jobs to administer all the largesse that govt. can throw NBR's way.

Look at the COA, NBR is another opportunity belly up to the trough.

No successful business would ever think that expanding into NBR would be a winner. You'd be daily fighting the criminal element with little support from the current politicians.
