May have been discussed, why don't more politicians use social media aggressively?

Putting aside politics (ha!); why don't more politicians use Facebook Live and other streaming services (I think Twitter has one) to take questions directly from the public as well as have "unfiltered" presentations.

It is one thing to kiss a baby and have Fox News or CNN cover it but if you can control the message from start to finish you maybe onto something big.

I guess Trump is sort of doing this, heck...he may be 3 moves ahead of it all but I still think there is room for a politician on either side of the isle to hit it out of the part with this approach.

thoughts?

"Live" is dangerous. They have to get their questions ahead of time so that they can craft a non-offensive response. Responding live means opening themselves up to negative ads come re-election time.

Because if voters knew what they really thought they wouldn't vote for them. Plus, they have to be sure to stay on the party line and allowing politicians to say what they think would not help the party lines.

And BTW, if you ever get elected.... There will be someone to come around and talk to you about everyone being on the same page.
