Wtf??

The judge revealed his proposal in a footnote in his March 15 decision where he denounced Trump’s reformist Executive Orders, which sharply curbs the inflow of refugees from war-torn Islamic countries

Judge can't order the President to do anything.

But the POTUS can totally close the borders for as long as he wants in retaliation

This is when you know you don't run your own country, and your voice is just noise. When judges think they can legislate from a district court and order the President of the United States around, you've got BIG BIG problems as a country.

That judge should be removed from the bench. Their job is to interpret the laws, not write the law themselves

Trump chuckles to himself as he reads this. Throughout his long business career he has eaten guys like this for breakfast.

I would say that he should do it as that's the fastest way to get SCOTUS review but then again we don't have 5 guys who actually read the constitution yet with Gorsuch still making the rounds in Congress.

So.. I'm assuming these refugees will have a 3 meals n a cot over at the judges place in Maryland, correct?

Practice what ya preach bro. You want them, then YOU take them.

Let all 100k in to set up shop in Maryland. See how long it takes for them to revert back to wiping their arse with their left hand and cutting the clits off little girls with their right.

I'd like to see the judge enforce that order.

ETA: on second thought Trump should let them and settle them all along the route of the Boston Marat and see what the good people of Maryland think about their judge then.

Without reading it again, I want to say that each refugee is costing the US 1600 per month.

You should probably edit your post. Even if we all agree. It might be better left unsaid.

I'm having trouble following, this is supposedly the footnote that the article is referencing:
quote:

On February 22, 2017, Plaintiffs filed a Motion for a Preliminary Injunction of S 5(d) of the Executive Order, ECF No. 64, requesting that the Court enjoin a specific provision of the First Executive Order. With the agreement of the parties, the Court set a briefing and hearing schedule extending to March 28, 2017. The Court will resolve that Motion, which the parties have agreed should be construed to apply to the successor provision of the Second Executive Order, in accordance with the previously established schedule.
It seems like quite a stretch to assume that this implies a directive on the number of immigrants.

Since you all are so confident that the article is correct, can you show me how you reached this conclusion from that footnote. It's referencing some motion, but doesn't really explain (at least to me) what the motion entailed.

I'm going to be honest. This seems a lot like the author taking the notion, searching for the most sensational possibility, regardless of the legal basis, arguments, or anything supportive.

I could be missing something, but this sets off the fake news radar, especially since nobody else is bringing it up, expecially legal experts.

This is what happens when extreme orders are made. People fire back in extreme ways. I do think this judge is a moron for trying to pull this though. If he wants to fight the EO he should have come up with something better than that.

Actually this is what happens when an author known for sensationalism regarding immigration describes normal legal proceedings. He was the one who got into an argument with Obama during an immigration press conference.

Here are the case documents.

This is how it seems to have unfolded:

1. This group challenges the first travel ban.

2. They revised their challenge to only addess the 50,000 immigrant restrictions, after the Washington case.

3. They are challenging this provision based on the Immigration Act, and the targets that were set. Seems to be way weaker of a case than against the ban.

4. The court schedules a hearing for March 28th.

5. New ban comes out, they challenge it, and keep the March 28th case.

So basically what filed for a hearing, and they say a date to have it. Isn't this how our court system works? The case is terribly weak anyways, and all the court said was we'll have a hearing.

Yet, some of you even want the judge disbarred for holding a hearing, because you read a sensationalized article, regarding a hearing that was schedule a month ago.

So many criticize fake news, and despite this sensationalism of the article, you've all taken that sensationalism further and have essentially created your own fake story.

Yet, apparently none of you cared to take any time to figure out what was actually happening, you just ran with your own fake story. So maybe you all should stop complaining about the media's dishonesty and bias when you're own bias has caused the exact same thing; and you've essentially created a lie unbeknownst to yourselves.

Or maybe if the "journalist" would do how job, he would realize that all of the published documents regarding this case are available for all to see.

And realize this is a hearing scheduled over a month ago. And it's schedule because that's what happens when somebody files for a legal hearing.
