If you are too busy to come back to Louisiana because you are rubbing elbows with DC elitists and lobbyists then I think you are confused with what your primary job is. Your primary job is to be a Louisianan and go to DC to vote on the issues that represent our beliefs...not be a DC elitist and go to Louisiana for photo ops.

I do not think this should be the main issue but it is a piece to the puzzle of why she needs to go. Saying it should be NO issue is buying into the liberal talking points. Liberals love them some DC and all wish they could rule there.

For whatever it's worth, I saw Mary grocery shopping by herself in the Downtown N.O. Rouses a few months ago.

I'm not voting for her, but this is a silly issue, and certainly not within the top 100 reasons of why I'm not.

True. But Ann Romney and her horse (whether or not there was legitimate therapy purpose) weren't fair game--it was irrelevant attempt to foment class warfare. And neither is this. But if our standard for moral behavior is "If someone else can do it, so can I," we continue on the rapid slide to the lowest common denominator.

I guess my question would be who is going to be the one to take the high road first? Should the non-democrats do it and lose election after election waiting?

Serious question.

Democrat voters truly do seem to embrace that loveable despot role. Huey P Long and all.

And she probably does this all the time, and not just during election season.

How does a life long politician afford this? Aren't their salaries less than $200K/year? that's the question that needs to be asked.

Just look at the business deals they get and their stock market returns. They know insider information and get to legally use it. Yet, scream that they need a payraise.

Their Super PACs pay their family members as employees. Their powerful friends also employ their family members.

Mary Landrieu's sob story about her house is laughable.

I think it was before the "season" really kicked off, to be honest. It was certainly well before this silly brew-ha-ha about her "residence."

She's still an awful Senator, either way.

I can easily see how someone being a lifelong political elitist is an issue for people. This is a just another piece to that puzzle. Agree to disagree.

A major part of the Left's meme is to drill in to people the idea, that if someone is doing well, it must be at someone else's expense

You know there's this little known German philosopher who wrote about that. Can't remember his name though.

Cassidy has a lovely home on the LSU Lakes. For which he and his Physician wife paid.

But he is not the one voting lockstep with Obama and his class warfare meme. As a matter of fact he has worked most of his life with the indigent, teaching at Earl K Long, and traveling to Third World countries to provide free medical care to some of the poorest people in the World. After Katrina he organized a group of doctors and they converted an empty K Mart building as a Medical Center, that provided care to the overflow of patients evacuated because of the storm. You know, Mary's constituents.

Cassidy walks the walk. All Mary does is talk the talk, and spend other people's money.

Wish I'd have seen her in there.

I'd have probably bitched to her about my fricking taxes.

Do you have a link to this horse being used as a deduction for medical expenses?

We'll never know for sure because he refused to release his tax returns except for a single year.

Of all the arguments for voting against Landrieu
(and there are very valid ones), this one (where her residence is) is the most asinine.
Only insofar as her 1%'er bullshite is asinine.

Landrieu actually began that conversation with a swipe at Cassidy for the palatial home he supposedly lives in! That is the problem.
She is not making the argument you are.

She is claiming she doesn't live all that well. In fact, she may not live as well as you do. She doesn't live as well as I do. She doesn't live as well as many who are lobbying her. But she lives VERY WELL. Why hide that? Why try to hide that? Her so-called mansion should be considered a sign of success. Why lie about it?

The Democrats use incendiary arguments akin to biological warfare. They seem pretty effective, until they infect their own people. As far as I am concerned Landrieu can burn in the same dumpster fire she started.

She's probably more afraid of the liberals finding out she's heating over 7K square feet.

Has Landrieu ever had a real job?
When she was in the legislature she was a part-time real estate agent. That's probably when she learned the importance of having 4 water heaters in a house.
