One of the commentators asks why blacks in Natchez can put up with this. The blacks in Natchez don't give a shite about this because they are busy living real lives.

The comments are gold. Let's all fondly remember the Jim Crow days.

These people are so intellectually dishonest with themselves. That video was from at least the early 90's.. we don't understand it, but for some damn reason, there was a short period of time where slave babies were art and decor in the south. But let's get serious here- they don't still sell that shite and the thing is admittedly whiter than it is black now.. hell I never even knew it was still open; passed it numerous times.
All I was thinking was "who in their right mind could get offended by that place when every other picture was of home cooking and grandma's pies?"

I have driven by there many times.
They changed to paint of the ladys face from 'black' to 'white' many many years ago. I am thinking they changed to face paint color probably somewhere in the early 1990s.
Just some more busy-body social-injustice-dufus'

He's going to lose his shite when he finds out the majority of the workers at the old plantation homes are black people.

Mammy's has some of the best food I've ever had. Pies to die for. Think it is only open for lunch though.

That's my good friend's family restaraunt. They had to re-paint the damn thing about 20 years ago because she was black. It's great food and great service. Of course, some people don't know anything about great service!

I've probably driven by that place 150 times; I remember when she was black . I've never eaten there, but now I want to drive on up there and Instagram my meal just to piss people off.

Very few facilities I inspect do I eat at. Mammy's is one of those places. Chocolate and lemon pies are like no others.

That pumpernickel bread in the video sure did look blacker than normal.

Black people eat there too. I can remember a place called "Sambos" down Airline Hwy in the early 70's. Yeah that would cause a riot.

we had one in little rock great place to get a late breakfast after some drinking.
sambo's started in racist strong hold and ole south icon santa barbra california!
the original is still in operation
little black sambo
at their height (1979) they had about 1117 locations they were huge for that day in comparison denny's has 1700 locations today and IHOP 1650 locations.
what ultimately did sambo's in was like a lot of chain operations they grew to fast and money ran thin and quality became inconsistent. in 1981 they filled for bankruptcy. they did experiment with name changes one was "no place like sam's" and season's friendly eating. ours became a denny's which many others did as well and some became bakers square.
for those that don't know the story of little black sambo
Sambo is a South Indian boy who lives with his father and mother, named Black Jumbo and Black Mumbo, respectively. While out walking, Sambo encounters four hungry tigers, and surrenders his colourful new clothes, shoes, and umbrella so they will not eat him. The tigers are vain and each thinks he is better dressed than the others. They chase each other around a tree until they are reduced to a pool of ghee (clarified butter). Sambo then recovers his clothes and collects the ghee, which his mother uses to make pancakes.[2]
